A poem I wrote about being a gamer
In the realm of pixels and code, I find my escape,
A gamer's haven where reality takes a break.
In virtual worlds, I roam, free from life's strife,
Seeking solace and understanding, immersed in this digital life.
With every click of the controller, I transcend,
Into realms unknown, where adventures never end.
The characters I embody, their stories intertwined,
They become my companions, allies in a world unconfined.
Through the pixels on the screen, I find my voice,
A place where I'm understood, where I can rejoice.
In the battles I fight and the quests I pursue,
I shed the weight of judgment, for here, I am true.
But sometimes, a shadow of isolation does creep,
A feeling that no one truly comprehends this deep.
In the real world, they may not grasp the joy I derive,
From the digital realms where I come alive.
They may see it as mere distraction, a waste of time,
But they fail to fathom the emotions that climb.
It's not mere escapism, but a place to belong,
A sanctuary where my spirit can be strong.
In these digital landscapes, I find my kin,
Fellow gamers who understand the world I'm in.
Through online networks and shared experiences,
I'm reminded that I'm not alone in my preferences.
So let them scoff, let them doubt and deride,
For in my gaming haven, my spirit can reside.
In this realm of pixels, I find solace and peace,
A world where I'm understood, where my worries find release.
For in the realm of gaming, I am free,
To explore, to conquer, to truly be me.
No judgment, no constraints, just boundless play,
A gamer's sanctuary, where I'll forever stay.
