To say that this is a day I will never forget is an understatement.
The man in the second photo (Steve Schneider) was & is my mentor, boss, biggest cheerleader, spiritual leader, and human diary in my first ever internship at WAFB Channel 9. No words can describe how patient, caring, talented and giving this man is. He knows how to take care of his interns and guide them and love them so well, so it’s only right to give it back to you, on your last show before you retire today. Steve has been at WAFB for 40 years+ that has worked with many talented and well known individuals in the sports industry including Kelsey Wingert- Linch who Steve had told me in the beginning of my internship that I reminded him a lot of which is the coolest thing because she is the best!!! It has always been a goal of mine to be able to meet Kelsey and network with her and talk to her 1 on 1 and learn from the best of the best. Today that goal was achieved, and exceeded every expectation and hope I had.
It is the most unreal thing to say that on the day that the one who taught me about Kelsey and who wanted us to eventually meet, happened to be the day of his retirement and Kelsey’s and I’s first time meeting.
