So we have all heard those stories about kids wanting to be like their favourite superheroes. Or people being so inspired after watching a movie or a tv show that they decide to change their life. But have you ever heard of a case where someone decides to commit murder just because they were interested in watching true crime documentaries? Someone commiting a murder because they were curious about how it would feel, firsthand? Well, I bet you haven’t. This is the case of Jung YooJung, the 23 year old South Korean woman who committed the first degree murder of a tutor and then brutally dismembered her victim’s body.

The first question that comes to mind is, who really was Jung YooJung? Well, let me tell you. Jung YooJung wasn’t someone that usually stood out in the crowd. Born in 1999 in Busan, Jung YooJung lived with her grandfather mainly because her parents were too busy to look after her. Now this is something that might have caused Jung Yoojung to develop a peculiar behaviour from a young age. She attended a private school in Busan where her class fellows have described her as somewhat of a loner. They said that she sat alone at the back of the classroom without trying to interact or talk to her peers. Any time anyone tried to strike up a conversation with her, she wouldn’t engage and kept minding her own business. Now, this is why she had an unremarkable reputation in her school. Having no significant friends, Jung Yoojung remained all by herself.

Three best friends, 22 days, 21 victims. The Dnepropetrovsk Maniacs began their killing spree on June 25, 2007, with their final victims being found on July 16, 2007. With no known motivation, we are left wondering, “What drove these men to murder?” The Dnepropetrovsk Maniacs, also known as the "Hammer Maniacs," shocked the world with their brutal and sadistic crimes. Their killing spree was marked by extreme violence and a complete disregard for human life. The lack of a clear motive only adds to the chilling mystery surrounding their actions, leaving us perplexed and disturbed by the depths of human depravity.

This chilling crime story is not for the faint of heart. It is a haunting tale that forces us to confront the darkest corners of the human psyche. The Dnepropetrovsk Maniacs' heinous acts push the boundaries of comprehension, leaving us questioning what could drive individuals to commit such unspeakable horrors.

Viktor Sayenko, Igor Suprunyuk, and Alexander Hanzha attended school together and became friends around the time they were 14 years old. The three bonded when they worked together to overcome their fears. For instance, Sayenko and Suprunyuk were both afraid of heights. Together, the boys decided to face their fear and not only stood on the balcony of their 14th-floor apartment but hung over the railing for several hours. Their friend Hanzha suffered from hemophobia, an intense and irrational fear of blood. Along with that, he also refused to bathe his kitten. While most people would fear bathing a kitten for fear of being scratched, that was not his concern. He was afraid he would scald it.
Just as Sayenko and Suprunyuk had faced their fear, it was time for Hanzha to do the same, and Suprunyuk had an idea. They would torture stray dogs, thus facing the fear of blood and of harming an animal. Together, the three boys captured dogs in a wooded area near their home, hung them from trees, disemboweled them, and then took photos next to the corpses. Their twisted actions not only showcased their lack of empathy but also highlighted their deep-seated psychological issues. The disturbing photos they took were a chilling testament to the darkness that resided within them.

The Korean Man Who Ate 26 People || The Raincoat Killer

On 15th July, 2004 the 34 year old Yoo Young-Chul was arrested from a massage parlour
which he often visited to look for his victims. Convicted of more than 20 gruesome murders,
rapes and numerous other charges Yoo or more commonly known as the ‘Raincoat killer’
instilled fear in the innocent streets of the capital of Korea, Seoul. Targeting women, wealthy
elderly people and pr******tes specifically Yoo wasn’t just an ordinary serial killer, according
to his own words he was a practising cannibal who would devour on different organs from
his victim’s body.
But the question here is that how did this young man wander down this path? What was his
motive? Why did he target a specific group of people? And finally how and when did he get
caught?
So join me and as we try to look for answers for some of these questions by taking a look
into the dark mind of the ‘Raincoat Killer’!

Early life
Born on 18th April, 1970 in Gochang county of South Korea Yoo’s life was just like any
other’s living in utmost poverty. He was often bullied in school which had adverse effects on
his mental health and definitely became the reason for his resentment towards the rich. His
parents separated soon after his birth and he was raised by his grandparents for a while, but
soon after that he moved back with his father who was living in Seoul.
It wasn’t long till his lawless side started to come out, even though it was to provide for his
family, his history with crime started early in his highschool years. His extensive official
criminal record began as early as 1988 at the young age of 18. He was arrested multiple
times on the counts of theft, other than that he was also caught selling child po*******hy. In
1991 he was sentenced for ten months in prison because of some theft charges.
Two years later on 23rd June, 1993 he married his girlfriend and almost a year later his first
and only son was born.
In 1998 he was arrested for identity theft and forgery. He was caught posing as a police
officer and abusing authority by extorting money from people and as a result he was
sentenced to two years in prison.
Around the year 2000 his crimes got more serious and he was sentenced to 3 years in
prison for sexually abusing a 15-year old girl. This led to his wife divorcing him and he got
out of prison on 11th September, 2003 as a single man and with extreme resentment
towards women.
According to some accounts Young said that he hated his ex wife so much that he would’ve
killed her if it wasn’t for his 11 year-old son. This was the time when his killing spree began.
The motives of Yoo Young-Chul:

Now one of the most important questions while talking about any serial killer is the motive
behind his doings. Every killer has someone they look upto, or idolise. For Yoo; it was
Korean serial killer Jeong Du-yeong who targeted rich people of Korea. Jeong had murdered
nine wealthy people in Busan during the period of 1999 to 2000.
Yoo’s motivation behind becoming a killer and choosing his victims was two fold. He had
extreme hatred towards two people; the rich and women. He saw himself as a saviour, and
thought he was trying to bridge the gap between the rich and the poor of Korea.
Growing as an extremely poor young boy his hatred for the rich wasn& #39;t something new but
his loathsomeness for women began when his wife divorced him while he was serving time
in the prison.He put it in his own words as
“Women should not be s***s and the rich should know what they have done.”

On 6th of September 1992, a group of moose hunters on the Stampede trail near Healy in Alaska came across an old city bus. At first it seemed odd to find a bus in the middle of nowhere. But get this, you’re a traveller who has wandered in the biting cold of Alaska, surely you would want a warm shelter for a bit, yeah? Well, they thought so too and they ventured inside the bus to spend the night. However, once they entered the bus they were instantly repelled by a foul smell that spread throughout the interior of the bus. A smell so putrid they could almost taste it! At first, they thought some wild animal probably wandered inside the bus and died. But once they’d got a good look inside,the situation was worse than they had initially thought. It wasn’t some wild animal whose carcass gave off that horrible smell but it was the body of a man lying dead in his sleeping bag! No wonder they were shocked and immediately radioed the local police. The police thoroughly searched the bus and came to the conclusion that the body was that of a man named Christopher McCandless. The man who wandered into the wild never to return back.

A Man Who Buried Alive || The Nutty Putty Cave Incident

The Nutty Putty Caves:
The famous cave networks that I’m talking about are Nutty Putty Caves. A hydrothermal
cave located just west of Utah Lake in Utah, United States of America. The cave was first
discovered in the year 1960 by adventure lover Dale Green and his friends.
Now you must be wondering the thought process that went behind this name that’s well ‘odd’
for a cave. Dale noticed that the clay found along most of the passages of this cave had a
soft, brown, putty like structure thus he decided to call it the “Silly Putty”, however later on he
decided that “Nutty Putty” sounded better. The clay like texture of the cave is made up of
silicone dioxide with many additional minerals making up the structure.
The cave has almost fourteen hundred feet of chutes and tunnels and these were accessible
through a narrow surface hole which was later on closed after the incident.
Prior to the incident the cave was one of the most visited natural sites in Utah with almost
5000 people coming every single year. Among these people most were boy scout troops and
college students who came in groups trying to show off infront of their girlfriends. But all
these visits stopped when tragedy struck on the 26 year old Edward Jones, a medical
student and father who got himself trapped inside the cave and despite countless efforts
from the rescue teams couldn’t be saved.
Small incidents leading to a bigger one:
The cave was sealed after the 2009 incident however this wasn’t the first time when
someone got themselves struck in narrow passageways of Nutty Putty. Before the Jones
incident Nutty Putty had four separate incidents where Boy Scouts got themselves struck
inside cave’s narrow and twisted turns and paths. In 2004 two boy scouts nearly lost their
lives in two separate incidents and they were stuck at almost the same place where this fatal
accident happened. One of the boys was just sixteen years old and it took rescue teams
almost fourteen hours to get him out using a complicated set of pulleys.
There’s no denying that most of the visitors that came to Nutty Putty were amateurs. With
this much crowd coming every year and most of them having no experience some incidents
were bound to happen.

For me it was playing with my toys (my beyblades specifically), watching cartoon network all
day or just going berserk while trying to hide from my friends in a hide and seek game.
Seems pretty fun, right?
Well the person i'm gonna tell you about now certainly didn’t do any of this in his childhood.
Today we are gonna learn about a kid who at a mere age of eleven stood trial for not one but
two murders!!!!
Yep you heard me right!!!
And mind you these murders weren’t just any ordinary ones, nor was this child. During all
this time the crimes that I have read about and told you about are much much different than
this one. When the term serial killer is mentioned the person that comes to our mind is a
person in his 30s or 40s but have you ever heard of a child that is a girl who kills other
children? And that too for mere fun and excitement???
I know it seems quite unbelievable and unimaginable but trust me when i say that all of this
actually happened. So come join me as we get into the gory details of the life of an eleven
year old serial killer!!!
Who was Mary Bell?
Mary Bell was born on 26th of May, 1957 in Northumberland, England. Her mother Elizabeth
McCrickett was just 17 years old when Mary was born, who by the way was her second
child. There’s no doubt that Mary’s life was pretty tough from the moment she was born. Her
mother was a pr******te who was often absent from home because of going to Glasgow for
‘work purposes’. According to most accounts Mary’s father was a fella named William Bell
but no one's 100 percent sure as Mart was already a child when her mother married William.
With a mother who worked as a pr******te and a father who was a violent and alcoholic
criminal Mary didn’t have an ideal childhood. You can understand all the abuse that she must
have gone through by one incident narrated by her aunt Isa McCrickett; according to her
when Mary was brought to Elizabeth in hospital she started screaming at the hospital staff
asking them to, “Take the thing away from me!”
The abuse continued during her childhood as her family repeatedly noticed bruises, marks
and injuries on her body from falling or different household accidents. Most people in the
family believed that Elizabeth was deliberately harming her daughter or trying to kill her. The
harm kept on increasing over time when one time in the year 1960 she dropped Mary from
the first floor window and on another occasion fed her some sleeping pills. It is also alleged
that after some years her mother also started allowing her own customers to sexually abuse
Mary for some extra cash!!!!
Making of an Abuser:
The thing about killers is that some of them kill for fun or sport while some kill because they
just don’t know what else to do. They hurt because they are trying to replicate what they
themselves had gone through and this is exactly what happened in the Mary Bell case! All
the abuse finally showed its results and the abused soon became the abuser!
Results of the abuse during her childhood years soon started showing when Mary began to
exhibit extremely bad temperament and violent behaviour in her school. One time she even
attempted to block the trachea of a young girl with sand in her school. This type of behaviour
resulted in all children being distant from her and she started spending most of her time with
a girl named Norma Bell who became her only friend. On Saturday 11th of May,1968 a three
year old toddler was discovered bleeding close to Scotswood. The boy later informed police
that he was playing with Mary and her friend Norma but he was unsure which girl had
actually pushed him. On the same day parents of three small children contacted police about
a complaint that Mary and Norma had tried to strangle their children while they were playing
outside.
When police questioned them, both girls denied harming the boy, however on further
questioning Norma admitted that Mary in fact tried to strangle the girls. According to her,
“Mary went to one of the girls and said, 'What happens if you choke someone; do they die?'
Then Mary put both hands 'round the girl's throat and squeezed. The girl started to go
purple. I told Mary to stop, but she wouldn't. Then she put her hands around Pauline's throat
and she started going purple as well ... another girl, Susan Cornish, came up and Mary did
the same thing to her.”
Local authorities were informed about the incident but because of being juvenile both girls
were given a mere warning.
