On 22 June, I had an honor to be a panelist and contribute to a UNICEF -hosted event to commemorate the Day of the African Child (DAC) at the UN Conference Center in Addis Ababa. The event on the theme of 'Child rights in the digital environment' recognized and celebrated the opportunities offered by digital technologies to advance the rights of children in Africa, raising awareness of the challenges and dangers of digital technologies, and encouraging the development of child-friendly digital content and tools.

Highlights of month of March!

On 27th March 2023, I was invited to be a panelist on intergenerational dialogue for International Women's Day event organized by the UN Resident Coordinators Office and the UN Country Office in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia at UNCC.

I addressed what International Telecommunication Union is working on interms of addressing digital safety online, capacity building and inclusion.

We have shared experiences and learned from each other as well. Conversations like this are integral to closing the gender divide, and creating pathways forward. When we bond together to support innovation and technological change, gender equality is within our reach.

Happy International women's Day!
The 8th day of March is a special day for all women and girls across the globe.

I am impressed by the theme for this year's Women's Day Celebration. "DigitALL: Innovation and Technology for Gender Equality."

It's a true reflection of what women and girls need. Inclusivity in digital spaces, capacity building on technical and soft skills in STEM. The United Nations International Telecommunications Union-ITU has been a fore front for this.

On this special day, let's take a moment to recognize the incredible women who have paved the way for us and continue to inspire us everyday. I owe it to them to continue to break down barriers and create a more inclusive and diverse world.

So, to all the women out there, keep pushing boundaries and never stop believing in yourself. Happy International women's Day!

Ps. Picture with ITU Secretary General, Doreen Bodgan Martin and ITU Regional Office for Africa Director, Anne-Rachel
