An estimated 92k turned up to march on Saturday! A thrilling, diverse, bustling carnival of incredible like-minded people and inspiring speakers, uniting together in solidarity against climate, social and racial injustice!

A recap of Reclaim our Sea 's journey through 2022. I've felt so inspired documenting this campaign and watching our resilient, vibrant, creative, sea-loving community stand up against exploitation of our local waters!
I had to try and help somehow, with my goofy video edits, to help share this incredibly important story of nature, community and standing up for what matters 💙🌊👊

A video I made of the Saltburn Pier Protest against sewage and sea pollution on 06/11/2021, to highlight the importance of young people and communities having a voice about their environment.
One year later to the day and the government are now criminalising the act of protest and people are still fighting for better environmental laws and treatment of our seas. We won't give up!

To help promote the wave this Sunday, highlighting the disturbing environmental issues we face right now and in ode to the fantastic Festival of Thrift parade, where Reclaim Our Sea volunteers shared our message, carrying the fab marine lanterns by Marske Litter Action/ Marske Guardians of the Sea/ The Northern School of Art

A powerful, educational arts display by the Captain Boomer Collective, working with Zephyr Wildlife Reproductions, who brought their internationally renowned, hyper-realistic street theatre display to Redcar beach over the last couple of days, to help raise awareness of the plight of marine wildlife and the dangers they face worldwide.

BDMLR volunteers and actors were there in character, interacting with the public to help answer questions and give out information.

This marvellous charity rescue marine wildlife and deal with real wildlife strandings on our coast.

There's been growing concern for the health of our sea and it's wildlife on the North East coast recently. It's been so inspiring to see communities coming together nationwide throughout Cop26 to help take a stand and show their passion for our Ocean and our planet in protests and gatherings such as these.
