ACQUISITION OF BRAHMOS MISSILE SYSTEM FOR THE PHILIPPINE ARMY

According to the Indian Research Defense Wing, the Indian Brahmos Aerospace Agency has already reached the final stage for the separate acquisition of the Brahmos Anti-Ship Supersonic Missile Systems for the Philippine Army. Based on sources, the acquisition of the Philippine Army will be significantly higher than the Marine Corps. This indicates the broader requirements of the Philippine Army for more Missile Batteries or different specifications to meet its Land-based operations.

Boeing 737-800 Flight 7C2216 from Thailand of the Jeju Airlines crashed at Muan International Airport, sunday, december 29. 179 of the 181 passengers have been presumed dead after crashing into the runway and the barricades. According to the local authorities, bird strike and adverse weather conditions have caused the fatal crash considered as the deadliest aircraft accident in Korean soil.

AH-1S and OV-10 bid farewell

In a decommissioning ceremony of the Philippines Air Force 15th Strike Wing, the AH-1S Attack Helicopter donated by Jordan in 2019 and OV-10 Light Attack Aircrafts acquired from Thailand and the US in the 1990s were officially retired from service. It is becoming more difficult for the maintenance services to acquire the spare parts of these aircraft in order to be operational, as a result, the 15th Strike Wing has to give up on the remaining OV-10 Bronco and the AH-1S Cobra, in favor of acquiring additional newer (6) T-129 Attack Helicopters from Turkey and (12 to 18) A-29 Light Attack Aircraft from Brazil.
