The 101m (333ft) Feadship “Symphony” in Dominica 🇩🇲 ⁣

In 2015 she was the first Feadship to cross the 100m mark, making Symphony the longest yacht to be built in the Netherlands at that time. Her vast size has been used to great effect across six decks of sumptuous facilities and technical excellence, including a fully operational helicopter pad.⁣
⁣
The sun deck is home to an observation lounge, bar and whirlpool bath, while the bridge deck includes a large terrace with outdoor cinema. A vast owner’s deck includes a beautiful full-beam stateroom with double bathrooms, dressing rooms and a sauna, a forward terrace with whirlpool bath, a private office and a study, a lounge and a spacious aft deck area for lounging with a dining table for twenty.⁣

Among the many fine features found on the main deck is a 6m contraflow swimming pool complete with its own waterfall.⁣

New 37.8m Moonen Martinique “COCOON” successfully launched⁣
⁣
The team has celebrated the christening and launch of COCOON, a 37.8m Moonen Martinique (124 ft). On a crisp Dutch winter morning at the shipyard in Den Bosch, COCOON’s owners joined the build team and the crew to see their new creation into the water. Following her upcoming sea trials, the highly anticipated yacht will be delivered in early 2023.⁣
⁣
The christening of COCOON was the opportunity for the owners to inspect the yacht just before completion and delivery. With construction progressing precisely according to plan, the result clearly made an impact as the owner remarked, “The yacht is above my expectations!”⁣
⁣
COCOON began life as YN201, the fourth hull built on the award-winning Moonen Martinique semi-custom platform. However, following her sale in early 2022, the owners specified some major changes. The 1.5m extension to the swim platform brought her total length to 37.8m. In addition to specifying the remarkable anthracite exterior paint scheme, the owners introduced the design team at Andreas Martin-Löf Arkitekter to create the custom Scandinavian interiors. The yacht will also feature a fully integrated hydraulic Z-lift swim platform at the owners’ request and an extended sun deck with a total of 65m² (700 sq ft).⁣

The Moonen team is now completing COCOON’s final outfitting at the Drimmelen marina, from where she will soon depart for sea trials on the North Sea. The yacht is the first of two Moonen Martinique yachts currently in build. Abeking & Rasmussen Launch 118m, 8507⁣

The 118m black beauty slid onto the prepared pontoon on Sunday morning 18th December. André Jonker – Senior Project Manager at Abeking & Rasmussen – could hardly wait to see the new masterpiece leave from the yacht building forge in Lemwerder in all its glory. “The work has more than paid off. We have once again succeeded in building an exceptional yacht.”⁣
⁣
At 118.20m, the yacht with its black hull is the largest vessel built to date in the more than 115-year history of Abeking & Rasmussen. Sales Director Till von Krause is also thrilled when he sees the black beauty standing on the pontoon. “This yacht impresses with its iconic and clear design. Furthermore, the experts from Joseph Dirand Architecture in Paris, who were responsible for the exterior and interior design, have come up with numerous details. “For example, on starboard side there is a Neptune lounge with a 3.40m x 1.30m underwater window that provides a unique view into the world below sea level. ⁣

In order not to interrupt the sleek, elegant black silhouette of the hull, the exterior design has deliberately avoided anchor pockets; instead, the yacht features underwater anchors on the keel of the yacht. A perfect observation experience can be enjoyed from the crow’s nest at the foot of the mast. Another unique place on board is the large marble-clad fireplace with a generous round sofa on the forward sundeck. ⁣

A special challenge was the construction of the large 16-meter hatch for the tender garage on port side, behind which a large day boat is located. In addition, the yacht with the eye-catching black hull features a fully certified helicopter pad on sky deck. The North American owner chose Cornelsen & Partner based in Germany to execute the project management and owners representation on his behalf. ⁣

SY Juno is a 350’ cross-over concept that harmonises the best of motor yacht and sailing yacht design.⁣
She is totally unique, with an elegant poise and generous accommodation for her Owner and guests to enjoy. With a waterline length over 100m she will boast a hull speed of 23 knots under canvas alone.⁣

Falcon Rigs have been chosen to maximise the sailing opportunity and minimise the sailing effort. Unlike a conventional rig which requires a small army of crew, this vessel can be commanded and operated singlehandedly. The triple rigs offer a healthy sail area to displacement ratio and will assure an exhilarating sailing experience. The tried and tested control systems have proven in-service reliability.⁣

Juno will be constructed to the Passenger Yacht Code and will offer accommodation on four decks with an intimate deck reserved for the Owner. Her expansive interior space planning will not disappoint; a full width Owners cabin suite, eight guest cabins, a beach club, cinema, a sauna/gym plus large lounges/flexible spaces on three decks. The principal saloon on the main deck leads aft to a beach bar and 8m swimming pool.⁣

The open transom and expanding bathing platform lead forward and below decks to a beach club area with opening side shell doors. An embarkation tender platform with direct access into the main deck lobby has been accommodated amidships. The guests can choose between a 10m limousine and a 10m sports tender.⁣

The vessel boasts impressive technological systems; an advanced hybrid propulsion system that optimizes the energy usage onboard and an energy recovery system that uses the propulsion propellers to generator electricity whilst the vessel is sailing.⁣

Feadship’s EXPV: Radical but Logical ⁣

Developed for clients who wanted to explore the world and enjoy their own privacy while entertaining guests in luxurious comfort along the way, the 87-metre EXPV concept by in collaboration with takes a completely fresh and unconventional approach to what large yachts, especially explorers, should look like.⁣
⁣
In a radical departure from the norm, the owner and guest quarters are completely separate, hence the distinctive ‘split’ superstructure with the owner’s private space in the forward section and the guest area aft.⁣
⁣
The two deckhouses are served by separate staircases and elevators but they are also connected, of course; in this case by a floating Glass Bridge and the Ocean Lounge, effectively an expansive beach club on the lower deck amidships with folding platforms on both sides, an indoor swimming pool and a large skylight in the deckhead above.⁣
⁣
“The whole concept is based on the premise that the owners have their own residence and there is a separate guest house for friends and visitors,” says Peder Eidsgaard, co-founder of Harrison Eidsgaard. “The idea is that the owners can spend weeks on board in full privacy, but also interact with their guests in the Ocean Lounge in the middle of the boat.”⁣

Feadship’s new concept 85m “Slice”⁣

The 2022 will host the debut of latest concept yacht. Reflecting both the opinions of current superyacht owners and brilliant new design ideas from Studio De Voogt, 85-metre Slice reimagines ways to bring natural light to a yacht’s interior, integrating the interior and exterior in bold new ways.⁣
⁣
The eleventh Feadship Concept, Slice, as it is known, takes the sculptural exterior philosophy of last year’s Pure Concept, lengthens and wraps it around a totally fresh interior creating a series of exciting, unique destinations for guests. The starting point was cutting open structure to bring light below in new ways to new places. A once predictable flow of spaces is abandoned in favour of a fresh approach to the onboard lifestyle. Nowhere is this more pronounced than the precedent-setting 110m2 multilevel pool deck aft. It’s like taking tomorrow’s version of a beach and exclusive open-air cabana club with you as you cruise between destinations.⁣
⁣
Slice is more than a design and lifestyle departure, it is also fully future-proof in terms of likely developments in clean propulsion by being, as her engineering team puts it, fuel agnostic. Regardless of what non-fossil fuels are used, the variable speed generators power Slice comfortably and efficiently to 16 knots. The system is forward thinking, anticipating more energy dense batteries and durable power-dense fuel cell solutions that may be (re)fitted when available. Ultimately, the possibility for net-zero carbon operations will be dependent on the fuel bunkered. Being flexible Slice will be ready: she is technically feasible, fully developed for immediate construction with delivery in 2027, or ready for propulsion options evolving during the next decade.⁣

80-METRE ULTIMATE EXPLORER CONCEPT ⁣

The London-based design studio has revealed the first details of its latest superyacht concept: an 80-metre go-anywhere explorer yacht. ⁣
⁣
With the design following closely in the footsteps of Vitruvius’ 54.9-metre Shinkai – built by Feadship in the Netherlands and delivered in 2021 – this new explorer is notable for its long aft deck which is ideal for storing a generous toy collection or even a helipad. ⁣
⁣
Designed to satisfy the most active and adventurous of owners, the explorer boasts a vast beach club and health centre below deck, enabling direct and convenient access to the sea for water sports. ⁣
⁣
Renowned designer and naval architect, comments: “This new vessel represents Vitruvius’ take on the ideal explorer superyacht. She maintains her superyacht DNA through the innovative design of her exterior, as well as through the exceptional space and comfort which are offered by her interior. She is also a true explorer through and through, and will have an exceptional autonomous range of 6500 nautical miles to take her owners anywhere in the world.” ⁣

Housing 12 guests across a total of 6 carefully-designed staterooms, the naval architecture of the vessel is informed by the success of Vitruvius’ previous explorer vessel, Shinkai, with her steel hull created for optimal efficiency and adhering to the latest industry criteria for sustainability.⁣

Finally, owners can also decide to choose an observatory option for the expedition superyacht, which would provide a 22-square metre space to bring those on board even closer to the beauties of the night sky, wherever they might find themselves in the world. ⁣

Turquoise Yachts launches 53m Jewels⁣

is proud to announce the launch of 53m Jewels. With her elegant sharp lines and clear geometry, Jewels is another unique yacht to be added to the Turquoise fleet.⁣

The celebrations under the theme of gold and glamour gave Jewels a warm welcome to the seas as the newest member of the Turquoise fleet. The ceremony took place at the Pendik shipyard on the 19th of August together with the owners, guests and the Turquoise team.⁣

Jewels’ exterior design belongs to Miami based whilst her interior is created by London based Yacht Design.⁣
⁣
She offers 8 + 1 guest staterooms, while the exterior deck areas are spacious and designed for entertainment of both big groups and for intimate gatherings. “No one will feel lost” says Luiz DeBasto. The Sun Deck offers around-the-clock entertainment with a hot tub, sun-pads, TV, day head, bar and acres of open space.⁣

“With Jewels’ enormous volume, my objective was to make the exterior less bulky and give a feeling of a forward dynamic movement, rather than a static feel” says Luiz DeBasto. “I wanted the design to show movement and purpose from any angle. I achieved this with the long ascending line from the swim platform all the way up to the mast and down to the pilothouse windshield”.⁣

Some of Jewels’ highlights include a substantial swim platform that make it easy for ingress and egress from tenders. The Owner's stateroom and VIP suite are forward on Main Deck. Traffic circulation between guests and crew are completely separated on all decks, including discreet access on Lower Deck between the Laundry and the Guest's area. Crew accommodations for 10 are on the lower deck and there is a Captain's cabin on the Upper Deck next to the pilothouse.⁣

Keel laying of a new superyacht at Freire Shipyard⁣

On Monday August 22nd, Freire Shipyard laid the keel for a new +100m Expedition Motor Yacht. Behind this keel laying, there is a large amount of design and engineering work done in conjunction with the owner’s team. “We are proud of the extremely efficient hull which went through extensive design and tank testing program to make it one the most fuel efficient and stable hull designs” explains the owner’s representative.⁣

This project represents to Freire Shipyard, its second reference in +100m Superyacht projects and strengthens its position in this most demanding segment of the industry. The new building contract became effective in 2021 and the cutting of the first plates of steel started in May 2022. The completion of the hull and superstructure is scheduled to August 2023.⁣

BALTIC PRESENTS YACHT OF THE YEAR PERSEVERANCE AT THE MONACO YACHT SHOW⁣

The multi award-winning Baltic 117 Perseverance will take centre stage in the Sailing Area from 28 September to 1 October, 2022⁣

This outstanding neo-classic fast cruising cutter won not only best yacht in her size category, but also Yacht of the Year at the Boat International World Superyacht Awards earlier this year. Forged from the Volcano “A Floating Volcano”⁣

When it comes to Design come out on top, pushing the boundary’s of design innovation. Forge is the new 80m volcano-inspired concept design from Anthony Glasson of design studio M51.⁣

Forge is actually designed to resemble the silhouette of a volcano on the water, which has a pretty dramatic effect.⁣
⁣
Made from aluminum, the pyramid-shaped superstructure, which has a black and orange exterior and an ice-class steel hull, and what the designer describes as a "molten staircase," although it looks like suspiciously like a typical staircase.⁣
⁣
While it's simply a concept at the moment, the superyacht would likely take around two and a half to three years to build if it were to be commissioned by a potential owner.⁣

Bering 145 Explorer Sea Trial⁣
⁣
B145, the flagship of , underwent a two-day sea trial in July. This impressive beauty departed the builder’s facility in Antalya, Türkiye, with the goal to test the boat’s performance in the open sea. Bering engineers were putting the final touches on the yacht’s systems, service companies’ representatives were checking on the equipment, the boat’s crew had time to familiarize themselves with the vessel, and guests were able to enjoy the ride and run the user-experience tests firsthand.⁣
⁣
During the first day, the main systems were tested. Before the cast off, the crew checked on the mooring equipment such as bollards, capstans, windlasses, and hull pipes. Both engines ran at different loads with the main goal being to measure the fuel consumption. We have learned that at a maximum 1,925/1,905 RPM, the PORT side engine consumed 58.9 GPH and the STBD engine consumed 58.9 GPH. With the displacement of more than 500 metric tons and maximum speed 15 knots, Bering 145 appears to be a very economical boat.⁣
⁣
Specialists from ABT, started up the second day by fine-tuning and putting into commission the TRAC digital electric stabilization system. They have also tested the bow thruster and set the stabilizer fins. Captain had a trial run of the steering system, and guests were checking the time it took them to cross the boat from one shipboard to another and from the bow to the stern and back. Guests were praising B145 for its comfort and seaworthiness. ⁣
⁣
It is expected that this yacht will soon be joined by her sister B145, which is currently under construction. Bering Yachts is planning to showcase B145 at the on September 06-11 and at the Lauderdale International Boat Show on October 26-30.⁣
