A little gem of a place , Julia Creek Caravan Park.
Here you’ll find the Artesian Bore Baths that you can book to soak and relax while enjoying this gorgeous view with a wine in hand ✨

Outback Queensland - The Dinosaur Trail 🦕

Earlier in our trip we did Winton so we had to come back through and complete the trail
📍 Hughenden , Qld - Dinosaur fossicking , new experience learning to crack open moon rocks to find fossils inside
📍 Richmond , QLD -Kronosaurus Corner , more fossicking on the dig sites. The kids had a fantastic time seeing and learning about the Kronosaurus and Ichthyosaur marine creatures that once lived here when this area was an Inland Sea.

We Didn’t find a big dinosaur but we did find old fossilised fish teeth, bones, fossilised shells and other sea life things. We were happy with that! Definitely one of our favourite experiences on this trip

📍Roma , QLD
📍Emerald , Lake Maraboon - Had to get more red claw!
Now heading further in land to explore more of Outback Queensland 🌄

Where have we been? Exploring, relaxing & enjoying our family time , so here is a heap of photos to catch you up.
After Yeppoon, QLD we went on to
📍Agnes Waters - Beach days & tried our luck with a surf 🏄
📍Tin Can Bay & Rainbow Beach - Fantastic experience feeding the Dolphins.
📍Cotton Tree , Sunshine Coast - Beach front camp location. Fishing & paddle boarding. Day trip to Noosa. Amazing burgers at Ricks Garage with a family catch up.
📍Gold Coast - Great stay at Big4 Gold Coast holiday park Helensvale, only minutes from the theme parks. Cocktails by the pool & spa. Took the kids to Movie World & Sea Word. Tram rides into the city , night markets and dinner.
📍Moonee Beach , NSW - Had to check out Byron Bay on our way to Moonee Beach. Water front campsite overlooking Moonee Creek which was great for the kids , shallow clear water. The dogs loved having a run on the beach too.
📍Port Macquarie - Stayed at park on the break wall area. Great location, seen dolphins in the evenings. Shops , esplanade, playgrounds & restaurants all within walking distance. Started to really feel the cold weather kicking in now!
📍Forster / Tuncurry - Relaxed afternoon , beach walk and a drive around town.
📍Orange & Cowra - Headed inland to the wine country to catch up with family & friends from where we used to live. Went to Canberra, ACT to Questacon and then the Bathurst Winter festival.
Now leaving NSW and onto the next adventure ..

From the white sands of Great keppel to the rainforest of byfield and the 4x4 on the sandy flats at farnborough beach, Our stay at Yeppoon has been amazing.
Cool waters discovery park has been amazing and the kids have loved the water slides and playgrounds. Rocky’s free self guided tour was definitely worth the visit 👍🏼
Now on to Agnes water

Spent our last day in emerald sapphire fossicking, managed to find some little gems👍🏼 snagged some more red claw for dinner, got the kids to burn some energy at a great little park, now ending the day with some beers by the fire watching the ripper of a sunset🌅

Currently enjoying our stay at Lake Maraboon in Emerald. Absolutely Stunning views of the sunsets over the lake, friendly and well kept caravan park and the added bonus the yummy red claw 🤤
Off to do some fossicking in sapphire tomorrow!

📍Winton Wanderers Caravan Park, QLD 📍
This Fantastic Caravan Park is where we enjoyed our stay in Winton.
• Large drive through sites
• Very clean & well kept Hot showers/ Toilets
• Washing machines / Dryers
• ‘Happy Hour’ by the campfire on Sunset, Everyday!
This invites everyone to sit by the fire, BYO drinks to enjoy the sunset, meet and share travel stories with the other campers. What a great way to end your day!

The owners were very welcoming and are always out making sure the park is kept neat and tidy. If anyone is heading out this way, we definitely recommend to stop and stay here! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

📍Opalton, QLD
About an 1 + 1/2 hour drive out of Winton , with a bit of off road experience we found Opalton!
Opalton is home of the beautiful Australian Boulder Opal.
By now you’ll know we love gemstones so of course this was one on our bucket list. We headed out to Opalton Fossicking Grounds.
Found some little pieces of colour , opalised wood & some small sections of boulder opal. Nothing super valuable but a bit of fun for the family.
Today also featured a lot of cattle , emus and a snake, all is safe but a bit of adventure for the kids!

Day 7: Age of Dinosaurs Museum

We all had a fantastic day at the Age of Dinosaurs Museum in Winton QLD. Learning all things dinosaurs and being able to see the footprints that were preserved in a riverbed of a billabong. Amazing to see the dinosaurs shown to real size 🦕

Tour guide only experience , with a little bus that takes you down to the footprints and dinosaur canyon. Widespread park complete with a working fossil laboratory.

Day 6 : Traveled from Cloncurry to Winton following the dinosaur trail. Finishing the day with this gorgeous view!

Day 5 : Cloncurry , QLD
Our next stop over was two nights in Cloncurry. Spent the day fossicking for amethyst throughout Crystal Mountain at Quamby. Did come home with some small Amethyst and also found a lot of other gemstones too. The kids had a fantastic time searching for gemstones and so did we! Defiantely recommend for anyone passing through.
Finished our day off with a beer at the Quamby Pub. The ladies at the Quamby Pub were so friendly and very welcoming. The kids enjoyed playing on the playground there while we sat back and enjoyed a cold one. Will definitely will come back next time we come through.
Now to pack up and get ready to hit the road to Winton 🚙

Day 1 of our travels around Australia ☀️
First stop : Mt Surprise, QLD
We left Atherton this morning and set off on our first day on the road arriving in Mt Surprise for the night.
Staying at The Bedrock Discovery Park which has a Flinstones theme so the kids had to have a photo in the wooden Flinstones Car as soon as we arrived.
Lots of space & drive through sites. Our area was full of butterflies, Jamison just had to catch some of course.
The park has a Putt Putt Golf area which the kids loved! Relaxed for the afternoon , enjoying the gorgeous sunset with a cold one. An early night before hitting the road again tomorrow to our next stop.… Karumba , QLD
