A violent man who burnt a partner with a cigarette and attempted to strangle her has been jailed at York Crown Crown.
Thomas Fallon, 30 years old of no fixed abode was sentenced on 3rd January 2024 by Her Honour Judge Sherwin.
Mr Fallon appeared by video link from prison where he was on remand for offences against two female partners.
He subjected partners to being burnt with ci******es, hair pulling, kicking and also stamped on the head of of victim.
The Court was informed of the significant emotional and mental harm that his actions had on his victims.
In a victim personal statement read to the Court, one victim said “I don’t think I’ll be the same as before Fallon abused me. He’s shown me what relationships shouldn’t be like”
The Court was informed how Mr Fallon previously failed to engage with Probation, but, whilst in prison he was undertaking an anger management programme, is a safety representative for mental health whereby other prisoners can turn to him for support with their mental health and was an enhanced prisoner due to good behaviour.
A letter written by Mr Fallon was read to the Court in which he said he took full responsibility and apologised to both of his victims. Barrister representing Mr Fallon told the Court that during 2021 he suffered the loss of his mum, best friend and grandma, who had raised him due to being removed from his mother due to domestic violence. Mr Fallon was quiet throughout proceedings, except for confirming his name.
Fallon received a sentence of 46 months in prison for the offences against both women, requiring to serve half prior to being released on license. Fallon also received restraining orders preventing him from contacting the victims for 10 years.
