My name is Melissa Louise Marie Fellrath-Holland also known by the stage name of Myssy G. I’m a voiceover artist and former on-air radio co-host and producer of the number 1 morning show. I worked on and off for 10 years in radio in various markets in Texas, Kansas, and Oklahoma. I attended all French schools and was submerged in the French culture and learned how to speak French from a very young
age. From a young age I loved working with kids and was good at it. Kids always wanted to be around me. I knew at a young age that I was put on this earth to help kids. In 1999 at the start of my broadcast journey while I was attending a class over at NIB Studios (National Institute of Broadcasters) I came up with the stage name of Myssy G. It was also there that I had the idea for a teen talk show. Over the years I kept a book of ideas for show ideas and subjects to talk about. I called it my brainstorming book. As you can see this show has been in my thoughts for over 20 years and its full. I know you're asking yourself why now? Well, I’m here to tell you why. In all the radio markets I worked in I tried approaching the general managers and my bosses about my show concept only to get turned down flat. But I never gave up, I just put it on the back burner until the right time. During all the years I was working in radio I was married to an abusive husband who was also an addict and kept me from fully following my dreams. Once I finally divorced my first husband, I was able to focus on myself again for the first time. Again, I allowed my now ex-husband to dictate the course of my life. His addiction got worse he moved from alcohol to drugs. Being the generous person, I am I made the decision to take care of him for 8 years and became his court appointed legal guardian and took care of him. His care took over my life and so I had put the show on that back burner but never forgot about it. I know you’re probably saying to yourself why know what’s different. Well, I’m here to tell you. It all happened a year and a half ago, while I was sitting in church listening to our old pastor speaking, I heard a voice telling me its time. It was at that moment that I knew that my heavenly father was telling me it was time to get my show on the air. As the weeks went by, I felt an even stronger urge guiding me to launch this and so that’s how I started my journey. I’ve spent all these months studying and learning how to develop and launch a podcast show. As the moment went on as I was scrolling through Facebook one day, I came across a free online program on how to launch your very own podcast show. The course is called Do the thing start a podcast challenge. That’s when I knew in my heart that this is the answer and it’s here. So, this is how I got back my dreams of the podcast and to get back into voiceovers again. Along with the help and support of my current new husband and my mother who both always believed in me even when I didn’t believe in myself. Without their help I wouldn’t have had the courage or the funds to get things started. My podcast show will be a show about teens. It will be a show talking about various topics and getting the thoughts and perspective of teens. I will be the host and every show will be about a different topic. Not only will I be talking to teens, I will be also talking to parents and other adults and painting the whole bigger picture, in hopes that anyone who is listening out there who may be struggling can see they are not alone and maybe get the courage to reach out for help and to see they are not alone in their struggles. Teen's today is facing so much more pressure and a lot more issues then when I was younger, and I am wanting to provide a safe place for them to express their views and their thoughts in a safe environment.
