And the rookie for yesterday was Anthony Edwards. Edwards, who was the first overall selection in the 2020 NBA draft, was phenomenal last night. Edwards stood out even with the other great guards and depth on his team. In 22 minutes of play, ANT put up 18 points, 1 rebound, 1 assist and 2 steals. He shot splits of 67/67/0 and had 0 turnovers. It was a great game for the rookie out of Georgia!

Victorious Role for the Portland Trail Blazers vs Houston Rockets OT thriller was CJ McCollum. McCollum was duelling Harden this entire game. Both players finished with 44 Points after the Double OT frame but it was McCollum who ended up being !! McCollum added 3 rebounds, 8 assists and 1 steal. 44 of the points came from 9 3 pointers. McCollum also ended the game with 44 minutes played and ZERO turnovers 👀 very rare sight. A lot of points and assists and absolutely zero turnovers. Great game from McCollum and the rest of the Blazers! FINAL SCORE: 128-126 Trail Blazers Win!

The “Victorious Role” for the Philadelphia vs. Washington Wizards was Guard Shake Milton. Milton, in 29 minutes of play, put up 19 points, 1 rebound, 3 assists, 3 steals and was an astonishing +33. His shooting splits tonight were 55/50/71. Way to shake them off Mr.Milton! Final score 113-107 76ers win!

The “Victorious Role” of the night for the heat vs magic game goes too.. a Coach? Yes a coach (coach’s can have a very prominent role in their teams winning too..) Clifford, ran a great playbook against one of the best defences in the league, Spoelstra and his Miami Heat team. His team did shoot worse but had more opportunities on the field and at the line as well! They went 19-30 while Miami only got to take 19 ft’s in total! Hats off to Clifford for his great coaching against this well ran Miami Heat team! Final score 113-107 Magic Win!

8 BLOCKS... that’s all I should have to say ,but Myles Turner absolutely terrorized the Knicks on the defensive end tonight to garner this “Victorious Role” of the game. Turner, also had 10 points, 8 rebounds and 1 assists while having a +/- of 20 to lead his team to a 14 point victory over the Knicks. Final score 121-107 Pacers win!

Day 2, started off with the Cleveland Cavaliers taking on the Charlotte hornets. It was a great game with many players having great performances but the player that played their role best was off season acquired C Javale McGee. McGee played 19 minutes on the floor (all when Drummond was off the floor) and looked to cover up the bad game Drummond had. He lit a spark and scored 13 points (6/7) 7 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and added 1 block as well. McGee helped the Cavs out score the Hornets by 12 when he was on the floor to help them to a 7 point victory over the Hornets. If it weren’t for McGee’s stellar play off the bench in Drummonds absence from the floor, this could have been a hornets win! Great game Javele! You played a fantastic role. Final score 121-114 Cavaliers!

This will be SG Victor Oladipo’s first full season back since his horrific injury that had him out the duration of the 2019-20 (if not for COVID and the bubble pushing the season back) During his first 23 games back , Oladipo had solid play and looked like he was shaking off the rust that comes with coming off a ruptured quadriceps tendon surgery. Oladipo, now 28, was a all star in 2018 and 2019 while also garnering the MIP award in 2018 and leading the league in steals (2.4)... here’s the question, with the roster he is on now, do you think he can revive his all star level player and become and all star this year?

Todays “Victorious Rookie” (which is awarded to the top rookie performance of the day) is none other than 7’1 C James Wiseman. Wiseman, a 3 game product out of the University of Memphis, was impressive in his debut game. In only 24 minutes of play he put up 19 points, 6 rebounds and also added 2 steals! He was a -10 in plus minus but that was far better then the rest of the starting lineup which consisted the likes of Stephen Curry, Kelly Oubre Jr, Andrew Wiggins, and Eric Paschall whom were all -20 in plus minus. He shot splits of 53/100/50. YES, Wiseman in game 1 went 1/1 from three and showed he can have range but also showed his weaknesses by shooting 4/8 from the ft line. Look to see him grace this a few more times this 🏀szn!
