Sylvia Robinson made music history in 1979 when she assembled a rap group in the studio to record what would become the first commercially successful rap record. Sugarhill Gang's "Rapper's Delight" was a huge radio hit, crossing over to the R&B Hot 100 charts and selling over 1 million copies. She demonstrated with one record that the nascent genre could have as much commercial success as any contemporary musical genres. Her label, Sugarhill Records, was a major creative force in those early years and she produced seminal records, such as "The Message" by Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five, and pioneering acts like The Funky 4 + 1.

Robinson was hardly new to the music industry when she formed Sugarhill Records with her husband, Joe Robinson. She was a successful singer, songwriter, and producer even if she wasn't always credited for her work. Hip hop cemented Robinson's place in music history while her pioneering work elevated the genre and helping to kick off hip hop's global rise.

Why do people love rollercoasters haunted houses and horror movies enjoy getting caught up in those fearful stressful moments? Because the thrill doesn't necessarily end when the ride or movie ends. Your body and brain remain aroused even after your scary experience is over.

While parts of your brain are revving up others are shutting down. When the amygdala senses fear,, the cerebral cortex (Area of the brain that harnesses reasoning and judgement) becomes impaired.. So now it's difficult to make good decisions or think clearly. As a result you might scream and throw your hands up when approached by an Actor in a haunted house unable to rationalise that the threat is not real.

There's almost no way to stop it. You know that Freddie Kruger ✂️ from the movie Nightmare on Elm St was not real, but I couldn't sleep good for a few days after watching that movie the first time... 😆

Fear 😱is experience in your mind but it triggers a strong physical reaction in your body. As soon as you recognise fear, your amygdala (small organ in middle of brain🧠) goes to work. It alerts your nervous system which sets your body's fear response into motion. Stress hormones like cortisol and adrenaline are released. Your blood💓 pressure and heart rate 📈increase. You start breathing faster. Even your blood flow changes.. Blood actually flows away from your heart into your limbs making it easier for you to start throwing punches 🤜🏾or run🏃🏾‍♂️ for your life. You are preparing for flight or fight.

Some will never take chances and will forever wonder if they missed an opportunity. Time... is on the side of the young. Time... is NOT on the side of the older folk that want to try new things or reinventing themselves due to layoffs or just sick of punching a clock for 30 years only to be maxed out in what they can earn.
All in saying is have a plan and don't dismiss an opportunity because someone told you something negative about it.

They were not set up by the government they are not owned by the government and they are not run by the government.

The primary business model of credit bureaus is to collect consumer credit information and then sell it to businesses. Don't be confused credit agencies operate as private for profit💰 companies. While they have a duty to fix inaccurate information on a credit report, make no mistake if you have bad credit that keeps them in business.

Fixing credit is a marathon, not a sprint. It wasn't ruined in a day, a month or even a year, but it CAN BE REPAIRED‼️

Mindfulness 🧘‍♂️meditation is a very good practice and something that everybody can experience.
It doesn't take a special pose or a certain place. Rather you can perform mindfullness meditation simply by closing your eyes and inhaling deeply. It is possibly one of the simplest forms of meditation out there and certainly 1 of the most beneficial!

1out of 5 Americans has an anger management problem, but you are able to control this issue. The trouble isn't anger itself, but the mismanagement of your anger that's causing you anguish.
I saw a young man so angry today at someone he was speaking with on his cell, I had to ask him if he was good. He went into different reasons why THEY made him so angry. All I ask was, do you typically let others control you? Are so influenced by what someone else thinks of you, you would lose control like that? Of course he said no, but I just hope in that moment he thought about it so he can reclaim his life.
