The Augusta Press exists to bring the latest local CSRA news to readers; to serve as a watchdog on government by protecting the public's right to know what their elected officials are doing and, more importantly, why they are doing it; to entertain readers with insightful, touching, and thought-provoking features; and to serve as a public forum for the discussion of public issues via editorials an
d opinion pieces. The staff and owners of the paper pledge to conduct their news/editorial work with an eye to the social responsibilities all journalists bear and to speak truth to power at all times. Comment Policy

We also reserve the right to hide, remove and/or not allow your comments to be posted. The types of comments not allowed on our site include:

Victim shaming and/or blaming
Name calling and/or personal attacks;
