2021 YEAR-END ASSESSMENT OF CHAKWERA'S PRESIDENCY: STILL CLUELESS & INCOMPETENT.

Just as his first 100 days in office had nothong tangible to show for, Lazarus Chakwera's Presidency is still Slow, Indecisive, Clueless, Incompetent, Incurable and Irreparable. What awaits is his resignation or impeachment, or referendum. He has no sense of direction on the economy, his latest Economic Recovery Plan is shallow and will bring no impact to citizens who are languishing in deep poverty and high cost of living since he took over. He has no national transformation agenda. His cluelessness on what must be done will lead to non recovery until total collapse of his administration. Blame shifting and finger pointing on previous administration have taken him out of focus. Incessant appetite for travels have blinded him from
imperatives of his office on public administration demands and public service delivery.

His slothfulness on finding solutions on shortage of essential medicines in hospitals, months on, the the situation remains dire. Slothfulness in changing his average performing cabinet which he promised to reshuffle in 5 months remains intact a year and half later, except vacancies created by death. Reforms report and recommendations by Vice President eight or so months ago have not been acted upon nor details therein revealed, yet he have the Veep a deadline to develop the report but once in his hands, it is still in his in-tray ready for action in which year? No one knows.

Inability to deliver the campaign promises, only to hide under the pretext of the never ending covid lyrics which muses only his hand clappers.

Corruption in his administration is rife and ever increasing and it has totally eroded the confidence of voters and partners. His administration is the most nepotistic ever in history, rendering him highly hypocritical, and the most nepotistic president ever. Malawians should brace for a tough life ahead in 2022, as the man in charge cannot remedy the waves or brave the wind, nor steer the ship. Malawi remains hopeless as we go into 2022.

RESULTANT TO THESE FACTS, WE HAVE LOST CONFIDENCE IN HIS ADMINISTRATION AND PRESIDENCY.

CHAKWERA'S SPEECH ON ECONOMIC RECOVERY PLAN: EMPTY, VAGUE, VOID OF SUBSTANCE AND A WASTED OPPORTUNITY.

After placing so much hope on Chakweras national address, Malawians were yesterday left yawning, scratching their heads, frustrated and afrabagasted by Chakweras national address which turned out to be empty, vague, void of substance and a wasted opportunity.

It is now cast in stone that the President and his leadership do not have the acumen, wits and grit to lead Malawi out of the economic crisis that is afflicting millions of Malawians. Malawians should expect more suffering in 2022. This government does not understand public administration and public service delivery.

1) THERE IS NO RECOVERY PLAN
An analysis into the so called recovery plan you will find no plan. Building of 35 secondary schools is not an economic plan its infrastructural development in education sector which is always ongoing under every government.

2) CHAKWERA WAS PUSHED BY MUTHARIKA, HE WASN'T READY WITH ERP.
Four days ago former President Arthur Peter Mutharika challenged Chakwera to come up with an economic recovery plan which he also offered to assist by sending his boys to help Chakwera draw an economic recovery plan. This might have compelled Chakwera to rush to the podium just to say he has an economic plan just to get back to Mutharika. The announcement about the economic plan came a day after Mutharika said this. Mutharika said Malawi is on autopilot and we can't agree more looking at what Chakwera thinks is an economic plan. Why did he rush?. What can Malawians do on international trade if their businesses are failing and companies are closing and taxes are high?

3) MISSING CROWN PEALS IN THE SPEECH.(DELIBERATELY AVOIDED)

a) Reduction of Prices and cost of living.

In leadership for you to be relevant you must never ignore relevant issues going on in the lives of your people, ignoring relevant issues will make you irrelevant. This is the part where many Malawians expected Chakwera to come up with solutions. Malawians have been going to the streets for a few months now accusing government on doing nothing about the rising cost of living. As it is, Malawians will continue to demonstrate because their is no remedy in sight. Water tariffs, electricity tariffs, taxes will remain high. Cooking oil will remain high and everything will remain high and worse as we go into 2022.

b) Corruption
Chakwera avoided the multi billion dollar corruption scandals in his government. Then Sattar case which has tainted almost every official in his government. The Batawalala saga. K 23Billion Covid funds report which is not yet available to Malawians. This is not a Mafia state. Malawians deserve to know what is happening. Is this why Anti Corruption Bureau is being gagged? Chakwera knows when ACB released the list of the Sattar beneficiaries, the centre will not hold, his government will go down the same day. These are things that matter to Malawians who are suffering, yet government officials are becoming billionaires in a flash of a second. People no longer care about his covid jargons and vaccination appeals when imperative issues are ignored.

4) CHAKWERAS PRESIDENCY HAS NO DIRECTION - IT WILL EVENTUALLY CRASH.

Listening to Chakwera you will see that he is trying to look like a man in control of issues but its clear he has failed miserably as a leader. Everything is out of control. He is clueless about the economy. He has no clear understanding of what public administration is. He has no clear direction for the country. He cares less about public service delivery and it's access by the masses. Chakwera's presidency at this point is irreparable and he will eventually hit the wall and crash this plane which Mutharika rightly said is on Autopilot. Chakwera failed to use his address as an opportunity to restore confidence in Malawians on his leadership and ability as a leader to steer the country into a desired future. Malawians remain hopeless.

Malawians should brace for a tough 2022 as it is clear that there is no remedy in sight. This government is sleeping on the job!

The Democratic Progressive Party, DPP and United Democratic Front, UDF are holding a presser at Naperi ahead of a joint mega rally which DPP president Peter Mutharika and UDF leader Atupele Muluzi are scheduled to conduct this coming Sunday at Njamba Freedom park in Blantyre.

DPP spokesperson Shadreck Namalomba says the two leaders are expected to share with Malawians the suffering and ills which they are facing including the current high cost of living, souring unemployment rate and selective justice.

"People will be advised to follow all COVID 19 preventive measures," said Namalomba.

Some of the officials attending the meeting are UDF spokesperson Yusuf Mwawa, DPP regional governor Charles Mchacha among others.

The number of learners enrolling in primary schools has dropped by 414,895 in 2021 compared to last year, Ministry of Education statistics show. According to the Education Sector Performance Report we have seen, from 2020 to 2021, the number of learners in primary schools dropped from 5,371,563 to 4,956,667, representing a 7.7 percent decline.

We can confirm that former President Peter Mutharika today met those who aspire to take over his position in the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP).

The meeting took place at Nyambadwe in Blantyre and according to the party's spokesperson Shadrick Namalomba the following were in attendance; Bright Msaka, Joseph Mwanamveka, Kondwani Nankhumwa, Dalitso Kabambe, Prophet David Mbewe and Paul Gadama.

Namalomba says the the party will hold a rally soon.

"All agreed to work together. No presidential campaigning until convention. All pledged loyalty to APM as party president. Rally to follow to be attended by all aspirants," says Namalomba.

President Lazarus Chakwera has switched on the 60-megawatt JCM solar-powered plant in Salima, marking an official connection to Electricity Supply Corporation of Malawi's national power grid.

The project implementation commenced in 2018 and the 60 megawatts boost the country's electricity supply by 20 percent.

The project is a $75 million (about K61 billion) investment.

Minister of Information, Gospel Kazako, is pleading with Malawians not to live in despair amid the rising cost of living ignited by a number of issues including the recent adjustment of fuel prices.

Minister Kazako says the recent adjustments in commodity prices have been effected in line with trends on the global market.

Briefing journalists in Lilongwe, Kazako says government is aware of challenges Malawians are facing but was quick to mention that a lot is being done to cushion citizens' livelihoods.
