So here we go with part 3 of the Funnl dev log. On-Site and Off-Site SEO.
People pay thousands of dollars a month for a solid SEO strategy and ultimately all it does is rank you higher in search results.
But SEO is only one side of a double-edged sword if you want to attract customers. Google and Bing are designed for people who are ready to buy. If you have water pouring through a light fixture into the living room, you need an electrician and a plumber asap. This is where Google shines, you go on there and type plumber Atlanta or electrician Atlanta and presto, hundreds of candidates to sort through.
But it does very little for promoting your business. In other words, drilling your brand into the public subconscious. So when they see the first drop of water fall they already know who to call.
Now the other edge is informing the public of your existence. This, of course, is marketing. For that, you need expensive advertisements, either social media, TV, or radio.
Or you can use a hybrid of the two in the form of a high profile directory like Angie's List or Home Advisor, both very expensive and often kinda shady in their (per lead) business model.
Funnl combines all of the above in a simple turn-key solution. Our partners get a highly optimized landing page, for both On-Site and Off-Site SEO. This included a professionally written monthly blog. In the last post, I illustrated our ability to rank no.1 for the city and service type.
I have plans for running the Funnl homepage on three major advertising platforms. Facebook, Youtube, and LinkedIn. This will, in turn, promote our 30+ partners landing pages by virtue of the Funnl directory.
Our directory is a very important piece of the puzzle. It's another feature other marketing agencies cant offer. And unlike Angie's List, Home Advisor, or Google technically we focus 100% of our resources into making just one business extremely successful. So one electrician, one plumber, etc. Our fees are very transparent, you won't end up spending tens of thousands of dollars because of high lead volume that never pans out.
This brings me to my last point. At $499 a month, obviously, this isn't about making a ton of money off our partners. $499 a month is barely enough to cover the SEO strategy alone. Much less our support staff, site management/hosting, marketing, content creators, etc.
So how will Funnl make money giving all this stuff away? And the answer to that is what I believe is the true brilliance of what I have done. By retaining the rights to each landing page we can run unintrusive advertisements. Its the exact same strategy Facebook uses to make money.
By promoting the heck out of Funnl and how Funnl will provide the community with world-class customer support and below-average prices. We will inevitably drive a lot of traffic to our landing pages and by advertising on our amazing entertainment and local news articles, we can recoup a lot of the money lost. Thus passing the savings to our clients.
I hope this explains in a little more detail how Funnl is the ultimate value in local service promotion. Next post I will explain how we plan on serving the community. What discounts, incentives, and local promotions will encourage the public to use Funnl. Also, I will get into teaming up with local journalists and content creators.
