And it's finally out to backers. I'm pleased to announce that Better Latte Than Never, the first in a trilogy of stories, has been released to KS backers.
It's taken an age, way too long I know, but it's so much more now than it was when I first thought I'd done it.
All the encounter maps have been re-done to a higher standard.
Act one was re-written after play test feedback to give options for more of the adventure to take place in Prague.
The whole thing has a better story which hangs togther nicer and the GM actually knows what's going to happen next!
I'll be putting the adventure live on Drivethru later today or tomorrow for those who didn't back the Kickstarter.

So here's today's "oh FFS" moment.
Literally putting the last of the battle maps into the final section of Better Latte Than Never when I noticed this little anomily.
So it's going a little while to put right. But then because this part of the map has an underground section I need to correct that as well. And then I need to replace the assets in other parts of the layout where this has been used. Encounter descriptions etc.

Off to A Gamer's Gaming Getaway on Thursday morning, getting ready to run Jurassic Pork.
I decided to make the pre-gen character sheets a little more con-friendly, particularly for those new to Savage Worlds. There's a little explainer on what each character's Edges do, and how to use Bennies.

I've been in to Fanboy3 in Manchester today to meet old friend but new manager there Sam Morgan. She's doing a great job in a great store, and they'll be getting some new Savage Worlds stuff in soon.

Malcom’s book, Section D for Destruction, was a key resource in the writing of The Secret Files of Section D.
The SOE ‘Shetland Bus’ became famous for ferrying agents in and out of occupied Norway. It had its origins in a series of missions rapidly undertaken by Section D from May 1940. The first was in the fishing boat ‘Wailet’ (refitted as ‘The Lady’ and then renamed ‘Hospiz’ with the RN code V2S) with a crew of mainly Norwegian whalers under Karstan Wang. Towing the 40ft ‘Snaal’, they sailed from Lerwick for Stenso on 29 May 1940 and left a large cache of supplies including plastic explosives, C**t machine guns and Thompson sub-machine guns for future use. After a mammoth trek through rugged countryside they disabled the Bjolvefossen power station, roads and telephone lines. Although the damage was only temporary, this had a huge psychological value, coinciding as it did with the formal surrender of Norwegian forces. In a punishing schedule, further missions were quickly organised to the Bergen region and a wireless station established.

I want to give a little shout out to my friend and colleague Simon Burley. For those of you who don't recognise the name, Simon was behind one of the very first superhero RPGs back in the early 80s, Games Workshop's Golden Heroes.
Simon is also one of the reasons The Secret Files of Section D is a soon to be released thing. When I started Section D at a convention a few years ago, Simon was one of the players but it was only supposed to be a one or two session thing. Then the players wanted more Section D so I wrote more. Then Simon came to me and said "you need to publish that setting, it's brilliant." So when a published RPG writer tells you you're onto something, you listen.
Simon's character in my now regular campaign (at that convention anyway) makes an appearance in the Taster Edition pre-gens as former Artillery Officer and £600 man (his words), Charles Cofton.
Simon recently released a lightweight and extremely playable Sci-Fi RPG called Code of the Spacelanes. I've played this game a few times and it's an absolute hoot. Very adaptable, easy to pick up and perfect for a quick one-shot or a campaign. Please go and take a look, you won't be disappointed.

I'll be running two sessions of Section D and the Curse of the Undeaf at Pinnacle's upcoming Hollerween II online convention. The games are scheduled for Friday 29th and Saturday 30th of October at 8.00pm UK time and are down for 5 hours though I aim to complete in 4 (I have been known to overrun on 4 hours :-) ).

Hello all, Once again it's been a while since I posted an update but I assure you work has progressed on the book and I hope to have the PDF out soon. By soon I mean 5 weeks or so. I know this is longer than expected in the grand scheme of things but, as I have said before, my focus is on a quality....
I'm very excited that friend, backer, play test GM, and all round jolly good chap, Peter Hildreth, will be running some sessions of The Secret Files of Section D at Gen Con this coming weekend.
Peter has prepared a scenario, Day of Days, relating a Section D mission in Normandy ahead of Operation Overlord. It sounds like it's going to be great fun. He's also got some souvenir dice and customised Bennies for players.
If you get the chance, go and say hi, grab a flyer, or play in one of Peter's games, I know they're going to be awesome.
When you show the new toolkit for creating Villain Lairs to one of the playtest GMs and they immediately have an idea for their ongoing campaign in another setting. I think we've done something good :-)

The Secret Files of Section D is a Table Top Role Playing Game powered by the Savage Worlds Adventure Edition rules. Players take on the roles of agents working for the British Secret Intelligence Service, specifically Section D, which was established in early 1938. Section D will go on to be one of the building blocks of the Special Operations Executive.
Set against the backdrop of a world in turmoil, our heroes take on missions to protect King and country. Officially tasked with spying on Fascists and Bolsheviks, a standard Section D mission typically meant photographing railway yards and water towers. Many operations were not standard though. Not by a long way. So far from standard, in fact, that their exact details remain closely guarded secrets to this day.
Section D agents saw and thwarted schemes so fantastic, the public simply would not believe they were real at all. Small details of some of these operations have leaked into popular culture, but nobody thinks for one moment they are true stories.
