The importance of understanding the mind are:
• The mind occupies a very big part of a man's life
• The mind directs or controls man's conduct the most. This implies that your behavior/attitude is regulated by the mind.
Before God can speak to you, He must first pass through the mind. We are in the flesh but we do not war after the flesh, thus your body is not you; a man is a Spirit housed in the body/flesh. The body wants to rule you because you are in his atmosphere. God demands that you walk in the spirit, carry the flesh to the spirit's environment where it will be defeated. When you carry the flesh to the spirit, the flesh will become obedient to the new environment and be defeated. The more you expose the flesh to spiritual things is the more he complies.
~ The strongest stronghold on earth is in the mind. Whatever you set to believe in your mind becomes a reality in the physical.
~ You don't cast down imaginations by your own, nor by praying and fasting, nor by going to prayer houses. What breaks down imagination is by the word of God which proceeds like a hammer. That's why the Bible said that the word of God is sharper than two edged swords casting down imaginations. Until that imagination is subdued, no matter the prayer you pray, that problem will not be dealt with.
~ Every battle that a man fights on this Earth, starts and ends in the mind. Satan and evil spirit battles with you in your mind. There is no battle anywhere except the battle we fight in the mind. Until your mind is conquered, your spirit cannot Excel and the devil knows that he can never accomplish it's purpose until he has conquered your mind. The thought have the capability to bring to you what sets in the mind. The devil brings one to himself through imaginations and thoughts and then deal with you very well. The devil will not work if he has not captured the thought. God made us to know that the devil have been conquered, he has bought us with his blood, so the devil have no control over you unless he pass information to you through your thought. When bad or negative thought comes to your mind, you should say it out and rebuke it immediately and stop the influence of the thought in your life.
~ Woe to any Christian who do not have time to study the word of God because his mind will keep being blind to spiritual things. And the devil will not let you to see the light of the glorious gospel of our Lord Jesus. The glorious gospel of our Lord Jesus sets us high above the powers of his earth. Until you see the light of the glorious gospel, your mind will be blinded. You should position your mind by daily declaration of the word of God. The problem of most people is the issue of the mind and that's why people keep being in bo***ge.

We have 3 eyes which are:
1. The spiritual eyes
2. The physical eyes
3. The eyes of the mind.
Meditation: to meditate means to think deeply about(on) something with focus. Meditation is not only for a spiritual reasons, it can also be done as an exercise for relaxation. Through meditation, you agree on something. The time of meditation is a moment of deep thinking. There is a key for good success and prosperity, and the key is meditation according to the book of Joshua 1:8. To meditate here means to.
1. to think deeply
2. To mutter
3. To speak it loud
Before you can start thinking about something, you must have heard, seen or felt it somewhere. And that's why we must mind what we see and hear, for through that, things enter into you.
It is not wrong for you to ask God questions about what he says concerning your life, for with that comes clarity. Until you catch a vision, there will be nothing to meditate on. Dream must not be something you see while you are asleep, dreams can be seen while you are awake.
Why do people meditate?
A time of meditation is a time of clearer understanding. To do, you have to understand, God cannot force you to do what you don't understand.
Being a successful Christian is not a matter of the number of years of being a Christian but a matter of the time spent on the word of God. Miracles are real but we don't depend on miracles. Don't be in a quest for miracles that you don't plan for your life. It is in the place of meditation that you create what you actually want. Meditation done over time makes you to develop a particular attitude that you might not even be aware of that you have developed it. Meditating on the right thing brings calmness and inner quietness. The rich that are very rich are characterized with a right thinking and planning and that's why most of them do go for vacation atimes.
Meditation moves you in the direction of what you meditate on. Before a thing will be made, it will first be imagined from the mind.
How do I meditate?
Get a vision, get a quiet environment, meditate and write.
Read and meditate on materials inline with God's plan for you. Your mind is within your reach, you might not be able to change Nigeria but you can be able to change your mind. Confession works when you understand what you are confessing, and that understanding will be possible when you have meditated on it.

What you are passing through is made to build you up, there are for a reason. Challenges are meant to destroy or build you up. It builds you up when you overcome it but if you are unable to overcome it, it has destroys you.
Delegation of thought reference is caused by depression. People under depression is fond of attacking people.
Depression leads to frustration, jealousy and envy.
Depression is the feeling of sadness and hopelessness.
Negative emotion or thought will either make you or mar you. For it to make you, you should apply wisdom and don't act according to other people's reaction towards you. Let this always be in your mind, "do not let your neighbour to pressure you"
Another thing is anxiety
Anxiety is fear coming out from no where. The peak of anxiety is what we call panic attack. Whenever you have anxiety you forsee failure.
Anything you do in life, cover the process till it manifests. Never expose the process. Covering the process will save you from unnecessary attack. Exposing the process may lead to emotional stress. When you present the actual picture(process) of your life, people will work to frustrate you.
In everything cover the process, let people see the evidence of God's work in your life
If you build in silence your success will make noise because the person that first buys car buys the old model. It mean that nobody should pressure you for anything. Learn to calm down and follow the due process. Live your normal life and don't do something as a result of pressure
How to manage negative thought
1.observe your thoughts without judgement
2.challenge those negative thought by questioning their accuracy and replace them with positive thoughts
3. Do things you will enjoy
4. Always talk to someone but you should know the person you are talking to for example your pastor,mentors etc.
Great power lies in your mind, use it wisely.
