Good morning beautiful people!

It’s Talk about it TUESDAY‼️

Let’s be real, there’s always that one person in the family who’s in denial, who doesn’t want to have them uncomfortable conversations, who doesn’t want to start up any trouble by telling the truth or who simply doesn’t see that there is or was ever a problem concerning the issues within the family!

Some people won’t even bring it up because of the bridge that may come in the way with their families. This was one of our many reasons for starting Girl Talk!!

Don’t be this person in your family. Speak up for not only yourself but others in your family who may be or may have experienced similar traumas!

It’s easier said than done to say “don’t worry about what they may say”. It is. Do it when you feel you are most comfortable doing so! Don’t rush this. This is all a step by step process! But I tell you what, when you do, you’ll feel Freedom! Freedom from within. Peace like never before. The weight of the world off your shoulders.

This is a push or motivation to start your journey. For you to gain the courage to speak up about the issues within your families!

It’s Motivational Monday 🎉🙌🏽

Monday begins our week and in my opinion, it is the day that can set the tone for the rest of the week. How we start the week does impact how we will finish.

I hated this day for a few years and it was only because I predicted how bad the day would be before the day began. Sometimes I’d even anticipate having negative interactions with others just because it was just MONDAY. Those feelings and thoughts mostly stemmed from previous experiences and I would let those thoughts corrupt my own mind before I could even get out of bed good or walk into the building of my old job!

On this journey of mine, I’ve learned your mind can be a terrible leader but an amazing servant. We should remember that our mind belongs to us and we don’t belong to it 🎯

I say that to say TAKE CONTROL of your power ‼️
Let’s make it count today and have an AMAZING week 🎉🥰❤️

Happy MOTIVATIONAL MONDAY 🎉🙌🏽

We made it y’all 🤗🥰

This weekend I experienced some major breakthroughs and it gave some clarity that I didn’t realize I needed ☮️

At times life does NOT feel like roses and butterflies. It isn’t something we can escape or take a break from. It can even feel like no matter how hard we try, something can go wrong. We make mistakes, poor choices, and bad decisions but that’s how we learn 💡

What has hurt us can heal us and what is troubling us can teach us! Our past DOES NOT have to determine our future ‼️

GROW through what you GO through 🌟

Y’all it’s THINK IT THROUGH THURSDAY 🤔💡

Our first episode last night was truly amazing! We really appreciate those of you who have tuned in and all that will tune in to our conversations ❤️

We’ve been overjoyed with the amount of positive feedback and those who felt touched by our conversation that we shared 🥰😆❤️

Last night we introduced ourselves, our mission, and discussed self love, empathy, and mental health.

With it being Mental Health Awareness Month I would like to touch on EMPATHY. To me that word means being able to identify with someone else’s thoughts, feelings, or views without judgment or belittement. Most mental illnesses are associated with EMPATHY-related deficits!

We can show up for ourselves and others without denying emotions, feeling guilty, giving assurance, or sharing platitudes. It’s human nature to forget to think before we speak when acting out of emotion, trust me I KNOW 😮‍💨, and I’m still working every day I promise ☺️. Words have power and they really do hurt. Sticks and stones really can break bones, believe it or not!

I challenge us all to have MORE empathy and compassion with those around us, especially the ones we love! Sometimes an ear is all we need ❤️

TALK ABOUT IT TUESDAY‼️

Good morning beautiful people, it’s Tuesday! So let’s talk! Today is more of a self reflection type of day. Let’s talk impact!

We all have a purpose & in fulfilling that purpose, at some point our purpose generates impact!

Walking in your purpose is scary. It’ll take you out your comfort zone, make you feel uncomfortable, be transparent to fulfill what you were called to do all for impact. Sometimes we’re in denial that we ever make impact on anyone simply because of what we’ve been through. It was ugly! It was scary! But no doubt there’s someone out here that looks at you and admire your journey & where you’ve come from and where you are now; Or how strong you were in whatever situation you’ve come from or even if you created it on your own (forgive yourself), you got through it. You didn’t let it stop you. You kept your focus on the end goal to achieve accomplishments & goals.

So today, I challege you. Grab a notebook or piece of paper and write down all the things in your life positive that you’ve done and achieve. Know that someone saw that achievement(s). And even if they have not verbally vocalized that your achievements have made impact, know that they did. Find peace in knowing SOMEONE is watching you, and even though this is for self, most importantly know that everything that we do and achive from the places we were stuck in aren’t just for us. It’s for someone else.

Someone else needs that push and motivation to know they can too. They can go back to school, they can start that business, they can make it being a single parent, they can come out that abusive relationship, they can heal from that heartbreak!

Because if you did, they can too!

Being your authentic self will allow you to be present for YOU, no matter what is going on around you. It builds confidence, trust, resilience, and power that is indestructible ❤️‍🔥

Being snatched out of depression
Feeling alone
Not being heard

I’m here to tell you It takes one day at a time ☺️
Don’t rush it, don’t force it, feel your feelings because it’s ok!

Self love is the open door to healing and pulling back those layers to becoming your authentic self!

Self love is:

1. Changing the way you talk to and about yourself! Working heavily on the voice in your head!

2. Making time to meet your very own needs as best as you can!

3. Creating healthy communication & boundaries in ALL relationships!

4. Learning your likes & interests.

5. Focusing on stress & mental health management; learning healthy coping skills.

6. ACCEPTING THAT YOU DONT HAVE TO BE PERFECT TO BE WORTHY OF ANYONE LOVING YOU!

Let’s appreciate what we’ve been through if it hurt us or it made us numb. Let’s bask in the thought that we went through it, it didn’t feel good, it pushed us back, it put fear in us and told us we’d never get past it, but it was our very own personal journey, a journey that we got over or a journey we are still experiencing & pushing our way through to find clarity & peace with! But your journey is special! Don’t let anyone tell you anything different! It either makes or breaks you & I hope you choose to let it make you! You have so much to offer to this broken world & to other broken women who are trying to find their way!

We have some work to do, so let’s work‼️

May 2, 2022 is our official lunch date but our first live discussion isn’t scheduled until Wednesday, May 4, 2022!

We are so excited to be able to share our life’s journeys, hardships, growth & maturity with you all, as well as hearing and experiencing what other women has faced as well in their lifetime. We want our sisters to know that we are here, that we hear you and know that you will be heard!

We’re covering topics like:
Triggers & Trauma
Accountability
Boundaries
Women friendships
Intimate relationships
(& my favorite) The Black mother!

Just to name a few!

So many women hurt and suffer in silence, with past and present trauma, with the overwhelming burden of life within itself. Trying to balance children, marriages, relationships, friendships and so much more.

It feels so good when you’re able to talk about it without anyone passing judgement or telling you you’re wrong when you’ve been hurt. Especially when your feelings are valid and when everyone should be heard!
