On this episode we reconnect with volleyball coach Nick, (IG: ), who two years ago tomorrow, was our very first contributor!!

Two years after he appeared on the premier episode of Alopecia Connection, Nick returns to give us an update on what he's been up to, and how his alopecia journey has progressed.

Now coaching volleyball in both New Jersey and Florida, Nick chats about his passion for the sport and developing players. Nick also talks about seeing fellow alopecian Alison Mann, IG: (Alopecia Connection Ep. 22), around campus while they attended the same college, and the impact that had on his outlook!

EPISODE 34 OF ALOPECIA CONNECTION IS NOW LIVE!!

On this episode of Alopecia Connection, Frank and Tommy welcome 15 year old Mackenzie and her mother Lisa. As you’ll hear, Mackenzie is one of the most inspirational young people in the alopecia community. Right from the beginning of her journey, Mackenzie and Lisa have promoted positivity and awareness of this condition by making and distributing over 3,000 silicone “Mackenzie Strong” alopecia awareness bracelets. Despite having alopecia for a relatively short time, Mackenzie has already become an active role model for younger people with alopecia in her area.

FUN FACT: Mackenzie is great friends with Austin, who appeared on Alopecia Connection Episode 26.

During this interview, Lisa discusses several organizations and groups that helped her as a parent of a child with alopecia, and what it means to have such an incredibly fearless daughter.

Today, Frank and Tommy speak with author Caroline Ward about her alopecia journey and how it led to the creation of “Whatever Trevor,” a children’s book about living with alopecia.

We have to say, it was such a treat to speak with Caroline, a very caring, bubbly, and ambitious soul who was so great to talk to we have a Part II coming shortly!

In Part I we hear her alopecia experience, how the book came to be, and we introduce the importance of talking about your feelings.

The book (we must say) is fantastic and allows an understanding for all children (and adults) on how to help process any autoimmune or illness.

On this episode of Alopecia Connection, meet James Morrell, ( ) a content creator and actor from England. Prior to being diagnosed with alopecia, James developed Crohn’s disease which dramatically impacted his life. He became very ill, losing a significant amount of weight before adjusting to living with the disease.

Since developing alopecia and Crohn’s disease, James has become an advocate for those with these conditions, raising both money and awareness. Mental health awareness has also been a focus for James, choosing to focus on the purpose we all have in our lives.

Episode 28 OF ALOPECIA CONNECTION IS NOW LIVE.

On this episode of Alopecia Connection, meet author, singer and songwriter Samuel Picou. Samuel developed alopecia at the age of 2, and eventually gained national notoriety as a 15-year-old contestant on the NBC’s The Voice, Season 5.

More recently Samuel has dedicated his energies to pastoral work in the Los Angeles area, becoming a beacon of inspiration and positivity. Between mission trips, Samuel has also released his book “Beyond the Cover,” which further details his journey of personal growth.
