I’ll always remember him from Invasion of the Body Snatchers and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
What was your favorite Donald Sutherland film or role?
With a heavy heart, I tell you that my father, Donald Sutherland, has passed away. I personally think one of the most important actors in the history of film. Never daunted by a role, good, bad or ugly. He loved what he did and did what he loved, and one can never ask for more than that. A life well lived.

28 YEARS LATER (2026) - CONFIRMED!
SYNOPSIS:
While specific plot details for 28 Years Later are currently undisclosed, given the title, it suggests the sequel will unfold long after the initial zombie outbreak devastated the United Kingdom. The anticipation for a return to Boyle’s horror universe is justified, especially with confirmation from writer Alex Garland of a new trilogy in development.

28 Years Later is finally becoming a reality after years of Danny Boyle expressing his desire to revisit this world. The movie was officially greenlit in January 2024, with Boyle helming the project and Alex Garland returning to pen the script for the trilogy. While Boyle and Garland collaborated on 28 Days Later, they only served as executive producers on the sequel, 28 Weeks Later. Interestingly, 28 Years Later marks the commencement of a new trilogy set within this universe. Garland will write the sequel, while Boyle will produce, with Nia DaCosta slated to direct. There's both good and bad news: Cillian Murphy is attached to the project, but not in an acting role. Murphy will serve as an executive producer, and it remains uncertain whether he'll reprise his character Jim. Murphy didn't return for the sequel due to scheduling conflicts, although Jim's survival at the end of the first film leaves the door open for his potential return.
WHEN AND WHERE TO WATCH?
Although the film's production is confirmed, 28 Years Later is yet to receive an official release date as of April 2024. According to Deadline, filming is scheduled to commence later this year, potentially indicating a late 2025 theatrical release, aligning with the original film's November 2002 release. Considering the sequel was released in May 2007, an early summer 2026 release in theaters is also plausible. For now, we'll have to await further updates.

Tonight’s selection was a Monday Movie Mystery at Regal Theaters. I hadn’t heard a peep or anything about this film before watching it tonight. It’s release date is November 10th.
