In before the comments massacre me: I misspoke in this weeks show, and credited Ultimate Spider-Man to Dan Slott as writer. Obviously I’m aware that that run was written by Brian Michael Bendis. I meant to say that Dan wrote Superior Spider-Man. My bad on that. Listen anyway it’s a good episode.

Hey Burnout Nation! We’re taking a little break this week to deal with some big happenings in my personal life. Don’t worry everything is ok, it’s actually a very positive development but it requires a lot of attention. What’s good everybody?

It’s been a hot minute since I’ve uploaded new episodes, or even posted on here to let you guys know what’s up. I’m sorry for that, I know it always annoys the f**k out of me when my favorite content creators go silent for awhile so I can only imagine the frustration being on this side of it now. The fact is, from late November, to the end of the holiday rush was a particularly difficult time for me personally. Without getting into specifics let’s just say it’s not always a time for comfort and joy as it is for so many others. I’ve also been having a lot of trouble with feeling like I shouldn’t be here (in the podcast world) lately, and it really shot my confidence as far as making content that I feel is worth your time. Add on top of that an existential crisis, and struggles with self identity and it created a cocktail of emotions that threw me way the hell off. I’m not telling you guys this to elicit sympathy or to try to make excuses but that’s my truth. With that being said though, I’ve done a lot of work to try to make myself right again, with help from a couple really good friends I feel I’m finally ready to get back on the horse and try again.

So all that to say “Dickin’ With Doug” will be back in all its glory in the next few days. I’m currently working out some tech kinks (giggity) and as soon as it’s done Episode 19 will be out for you all to hear.

Once again guys I can’t begin to tell you how sorry I am. I know this little Burnout Nation of ours is still super small but it really does mean alot to me. I promise to make it a priority to make sure you guys know that going forward. I love you all, especially those that have reached out to see if I’m ok, and asking about where the show is. It’s still here, and I really really hope I haven’t f**ked it so much that you guys have lost interest.

Hey Burnout Nation, unfortunately I’m gonna have to postpone the episode today. I woke up yesterday for work to find that I had no voice (blew it doing something stupid, don’t ask). I hoped that after taking it easy for a night and having some tea, I’d be able to push through, but that doesn’t appear to be happening. I will absolutely be back next week with one hell of an episode to make it up to you guys. I’m really sorry about that.

Hey guys, just wanted to give you guys a heads up, I’m gonna be tabling the ”Mount Rushmore of Gaming” discussion until next week. I’m in the middle of recording the show now, and my voice is getting rough (the flu is back with a vengeance).
