In this episode we speak with Cal Thompson, the VP of Product Design and Research at Headspace, in their role they are a driving force at making effective mindfulness and mental health tools accessible to all. We discussed how being in service to others, creating communities and, being connected to nature is the only way in which we can solve the climate crisis.

Cal has also been teaching the Avatar Course, a self-realization and compassion training, since 2006 and is a practicing visual artist (callenthompson.com).

Here is the link to the Human Layers meditation that was referenced in the episode - Listen here! https://the-long-time-academy.simplecast.com/episodes/human-layers

Our mission is to inspire vulnerability and awareness in order to become more mindful of our everyday actions and how they affect the planet, each other and ourselves.

The end of the year can be a hectic time. This is your invitation to take rest.

Get into nature. Draw alongside the silence of stone until its calmness can claim you. Be excessively gentle with yourself. Smile to the sun, the wind and the rain. And enjoy the human experience of being.

We recently had the pleasure of speaking with Tarik Dervish.
Tarik holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with Honours in Ayurveda and has been running workshops and courses in Yoga with an Ayurvedic approach since 2001.

It was really interesting to hear how Tarik incorporates his extensive Ayurveda knowledge into his yoga teaching. We also discussed the Pancha Koshas , also known as the 5 sheaths, or 5 approaches to purifying the body. He explained each level of the Pancha Koshas, what they are, how you know when you are in one.

Tarik is a Yoga teacher trainer for the British Wheel of Yoga (BWY), has trained dozens of teachers and taught thousands of students. He is the author of Ayurveda in Yoga Teaching and runs a small clinic in Kings Cross and central Brighton. You can follow him on Facebook, LinkedIn and Youtube. For more information about his work, please visit www.yogawell.co.uk.

This was a really interesting conversation and we look forward to having Tarik back for another discussion in the future!

We discussed how we can bring the wonder of the natural world into our daily lives and how we can take learnings from how nature works. 🌳

If we can take a moment to slow down the pace and look up, what beautiful things might we see then? ✨☁️☀️💫

We’ve changed! But, then again, haven’t we all? 😉

We’re happy to announce our re-entry into the podcast world as…

✨The Conscious Conversations Podcast✨

We feel that a part of life is allowing the space for change, and at the end of our last season we felt that we had naturally evolved to a different form of conversation on the show. They were conversations that incorporated mindfulness, awareness, consciousness, sustainability and how our experiences connect us. We love those kinds of conversations ☺️ and felt eager to have more of them, with you!

So…stay tuned…there’s good stuff coming.. 😏💚

You've all heard of your carbon footprint 👣, but what is our Carbon Shadow?

🎧️ In this episode we discuss what our carbon shadow consists of and how we can be more conscious of it. By bringing conscious awareness to our choices, our purchases and our attention, we recognise how much impact our choices actually have in daily life and realise the power that we hold in these choices. With that, we feel then, that one person can indeed make a difference! 💪 👭👫👬🌳

This is the third phase of the Spiral of the Work: See with New Eyes. This is the turning point of the spiral when we know more genuinely our relatedness to all that is.

In this episode we discuss our own experience of what it feels like and what we encounter in the world when we see with new eyes. Are our sense spiked? Do our bodies give us hints? At this point we feel the excitement and ecstatic-ness of life and all that lives around us.

How is this phase for you? What do you experience?

Merry Christmas! 🎄

This time of the year can be filled with so much joy, traditions, and activities -but it can also cause a lot of stress! How do we find the balance and enjoy this time without burning out? This time can also be very wasteful, so how do we enjoy it all without as much waste? Let's talk about it!

We hope that you find your balance and enjoy the moments and memories that you choose to create. 🎄❄️

What does it mean to honour our pain?

It takes practice and doesn't always feel like the first thing we want to do, but when we do it can be a beautiful experience. How do we learn to be softer with ourselves?

Have you ever noticed that when we experience pain it can make us feel more connected to others? We all experience highs and lows and we are all just learning how to move through this life.

The next time you experience pain, see if you can approach it with more gentleness and ease.

We are right here with you. 💚

What are you grateful for today?

For me, it was my cup of coffee and the sunshine. ☀️☕️ It has been raining for days, so I’m feeling extra grateful for the sunshine today.

Gratitude. It’s such a simple thing that holds so much power. Have you ever noticed that when you start to think about all the things you feel grateful for it lifts your mood?

This was a fun topic to talk about, and we understand that some days finding a sliver of gratitude is hard, but trust us- it’s worth it. 🥰🙏🏼👭

In this episode we talk with Catherine Hutchins & Aniyo Rahebi the female founders of the 'good single use' edible cup; Good-Edi. The cups are made from ethically sourced, grain-based vegan ingredients so Good-Edi is a solution that is good for the planet, and good for you! Both Catherine and Aniyo have worked in the food processing and packaging industry for over 10 years.

The Good-Edi cup is like a waffle cone that can be eaten once it has fulfilled its use as a cup. Consumers not wanting to eat it can throw it in the compost or even the general rubbish, knowing it will not take more than a few weeks to break down naturally.

Currently they are only located in cafe's across Australia, take to their instagram ( ) to find out where you can grab a coffee with one of their cups or their website https://good-edi.com/.
