Squaw Valley Vacation Day 1! It’s amazing, when learning a new sport, how much satisfaction I gain from each minor improvement. I used to hate being a beginner at ANYTHING... but I’ve learned that those days are actually the most gratifying. When else do I get to experience massive growth? When else do I get to end the day drastically better than how I started it?

Embrace the beginner phase... the growth doesn’t happen at the top, it happens on the way up. Also, check out my cute ski instructor 😘

I’m grateful that I can spend from 10am-2pm protecting 3 families from losing their homes and still have time to get a workout in before another 3 appointments this evening 🤩 Plus, by this time tomorrow we’ll be off to Tahoe for a week of skiing! I’ve fantasized about a life like this... 🥰🥰

From regular work responsibilities, Symmetry Virtual Conference and now judging the National Pageant, it’s a “firing on all cylinders” type of week. What I’m grateful for is the opportunity to DO that. Pageantry (especially judging) always fills my cup in a way that nothing else does. Im grateful for this zap of inspiration I’ve received from two passions, at the same time! 🥰

I’m grateful that it is now CONFERENCE! Symmetry has gone all virtual this year and watching from the comfort of a hotel room in Milwaukee has been nothing short of inspiring. I’m so lucky to have a company that cares SO MUCH about its’ people that they put on an entire production to educate, reward and motivate. Plus, I just watched speak directly to our company about his book and his nonnegotiables. SO GRATEFUL

My first experience! While THIS was really exciting, the part that sends me over the moon is that I got to choose to take a Monday to myself. I drove into the city and treated myself to a hair appointment and a cupcake from !

Controlling my schedule means choosing how I set up each day. It means choosing when MY weekend is, choosing how to best spend my time.

It means freedom; and to think I gained all of this from taking ON a career, not from giving something t up. 🙏🏻

Yesterday I helped a sweet (and quite sassy) 71 year old man protect his wife. He said that, if he were to pass away tomorrow, she would have no place to live; she could not afford the house payments on her own.

Last week, I helped another kind soul, only this time it was a 75-year-old lady who wanted to protect her children from taking on her debts in the event of her passing away too soon. She told me that, when her husband passed away five years prior, she lost 65% of her income in an instant, and she did not want to leave any financial stress to those that she loved.

It’s really difficult to think about, but what many of us don’t realize is that our debts don’t come with us when we leave this planet.

I’m so grateful that Symmetry has given me the opportunity to help people in this way. To give families peace of mind and financial security in the face of their darkest times is a mighty responsibility, and I’m honored to fill that role.

I had always seen myself as a future business owner, but had ZERO idea how or what I was going to do. I just knew I wanted to be a that owned something 😂

Ironically, in the last 10 months I’ve earned how run a profitable business, track EVERYTHING for improvement and planning, handle the financials, hire and train new agents, and SO much more. Im still a major work in progress, and it’s an ongoing learning curve, but to have the structure laid out in an easy-to-follow format is a dream.

Thank you to Symmetry for teaching me how to OWN it 💁🏼‍♀️

Yesterday I had the opportunity to speak on my THIRD corporate call to share the importance of our upcoming conference. Of course, I’m incredibly grateful for being given the opportunity to speak and the recognition involved in doing so. Being still so new in this industry, it’s an honor to have a voice to (hopefully) inspire & encourage others.

What I am incredibly grateful for, though, is that the minute I hung up from the call, my inbox was flooded with praise from people across the company, people I admired and people I didn’t even know! . It’s incredible, to feel SO supported and loved by coworkers who only want the best for me and for each other.

🍀 SO GRATEFUL 🍀 Celebrating yet another promotion with a green on 😉 Since I started in May, I’ve had a pay increase of 30%.

You read that right...

In 10 short months, I’ve had a pay increase of 30%. And that’s even with taking 6 weeks off to float down the Grand Canyon this past fall.

I don’t know a single industry, or a single company for that matter, that rewards its people, this quickly and to this magnitude. Im just a couple months away from owning my own agency in an industry that, as of a year ago, I knew NOTHING about. That’s the power of an infallible system and an incredible company that’s sole mission is to change lives.

Back in October I was able to visit my parents for my dad’s last chemo treatment. Sure, I was able to pick up and leave without really skipping a beat of work [which was incredible] but what I’m really grateful for is the opportunity to take off wherever, whenever I want without having to check in with a boss. To have the freedom to make my own plans, STILL achieve success at work AND come back to a supportive, loving team is just straight liberating. That’s Reason #4 🍀

P.S. the sure way to a good time is to put and I on balloon duty 😅

Reason #3 I’m grateful for my job: getting to work from HOME 🙌🏻 when I worked an office job, it didn’t matter what I was doing, the fact that I couldn’t leave until 5 pm was torture. Sure, maybe I was just being a millennial, but since I’ve had the opportunity to work from the comfort of my living room (and make more money than I EVER have), I will never go back to office life again.

No commute ✔️

“We are in the business of personal development, we just so happen to sell life insurance.” I’ve heard this saying numerous times on company calls and I’ll be honest, at first I didn’t understand what that meant.

Why would a company care what/if we are reading?

Doesn’t a company really only care about making money?

What difference does it make how I start my morning, as long as I’m getting my work done, right?

Wrong. It makes ALL of the difference.

The culture at Symmetry was designed with the knowledge: people can come into the insurance industry and make a ton of money, that’s a fact. But, what happens when someone is not emotionally ready to handle the new responsibility that more money brings?

We see this time and time again with lottery winners, people who have not grown themselves to be able to match their new lifestyles. They fail. More often than not they end up in a worse financial position than they were in before they won the lottery. We see this with professional athletes as well.

I’ve learned through my mentors and through my own trials and tribulations that, if I am not pushing myself to become better, in every way, I cannot expect to reach and SUSTAIN the levels of success that I want. It’s impossible. We must develop ourselves as leaders, as partners, as friends, and as mentors. We must grow our mindsets, uplift our attitudes, develop our communication skills, and embrace the discomfort.

That’s reason #2 why I’m grateful for my job, it is not only understood, but TAUGHT that, without personal development, there cannot be lasting success.

Reason #1 I’m grateful for my job: RECOGNITION. Before working for Symmetry, I was terrible at celebrating my wins. I only focused on putting pressure on myself to hit the next target, without taking time to enjoy how far I’ve come. It was always “not good enough, I can do better.”

Here, my wins are celebrating for me, with me, and in front of the entire team. Everyone’s are. The small wins are EVERYTHING and pave the way to the big ones. I’m so grateful that my company that taught ME that.

It will make an immense difference with your faith and spirit when you look up on civilization as a good thing which is becoming better or as a bad thing which is decaying. One viewpoint gives you an advancing and expanding mind and the other gives you a descending and decreasing mind. One viewpoint will make you grow greater and the other will inevitably cause you to grow smaller. - James Allen

Your destiny is not just hangin’ out there in the universe waiting for you to arrive. YOU create it, one decision at a time. Everyone has the opportunity to get just 1% better, and with that opportunity, comes a responsibility to do so. Take responsibility of your life and you will be in control.

13/12/2020

You know those periods in life when you feel overwhelmed with seemingly all of the negative emotions that your body can possess? At the same time....

Confusion, self-doubt, irritability, discomfort, jealously, insecurity, some hate, LOTS of frustration... who am I kidding, it’s 2020, I’m sure just about everyone has felt all, or some combination of the above.

I have too... This year has been a whirlwind of stretching comfort zones beyond recognition.

All change has been with the goal of growing in a positive direction: Career change, city change, wild travel adventures, social media hiatuses, the list goes on. Yet, I’ve been so critical toward myself about how many negative emotions I’ve felt along the way. Positive change should feel good, right?

Not all the time. Not every second of the day. Not even every day. What most (myself included) forget to remember, is that change is hard. It’s brutal, it’s messy, it’s VERY uncomfortable, it’s discouraging, it’s all of these things and more. The yellow brick road wasn’t all flowers and sunshine, and yours won’t be either.

Go through it any way.

One day you’re going to wake up and feel the magnitude of all of the momentum you’ve been building up.

One day you’re going to see an old friend at the grocery store who comments on how fit you look, or you’re going to FINALLY make that sale you’ve been gunning for, or you’ll have a break through on that book idea you’ve been mulling over, or maybe you’ll feel that surge of motivation that you’ve been needing.

All you need to do is not QUIT. Don’t ever, EVER quit. You don’t deserve to quit on yourself.

Not sure where to start or just needing a mental boost? Best advice I’ve ever received: read 10 pages of a good (personal development) book, every day. Just 10 pages.

12/09/2020

I’ve been living in a self-constructed box for 28 years. I could blame it on a lot of things: Catholic school, Pageantry, being a female in male-dominated industries, middle school bullies, condescending coaches, moronic ex boyfriends, the list continues.

But, sadly, it’s my own fault; I’ve allowed my self-talk and life experience to dictate my “truths” which has landed me upside-down and sideways inside the box of limiting beliefs and self-doubt.

Well, here’s some truth:
I’m sick of feeling guilty for wanting better for myself
I’m sick of being paralyzed by perfectionism
I’m tired of judging myself for my body and what I choose to eat
I’m tired of feeling intimidated, of worrying about opinions, of trying to say “exactly the right thing” and of how I come across to others. I’m tired of trying to live up to an impossible expectation (set by self) in hopes that reaching it will FINALLY bring self-worth.
The Over-Thinking, Self-Analyzing Struggle Bus is out of gas, folks.

I know SOMETHING in there resonated with you, so I formally welcome you to the self-development s**t show, you’re in good company.

It’s important to note that I am the skeptic of all skeptics; I don’t believe it until I’ve seen that it can work. So let it be known that after dedicating HOURS to daily affirmations, reading every self-help book that I can get my hands on, and after talking to a therapist about the disaster that is my inner dialogue, I am confident in reporting my findings:

Mindset CAN be changed. 🤯

The above are not truths that I’ve been living by, they’re stories, made up by moi.

Listen, it takes commitment, consistency and trust, it’s so not pleasant; but the liberation will be like nothing you’ve ever felt.

If you’re like me, you’ll likely go from having a mental break-down while drinking a bottle of Prosecco in the bathtub on a Tuesday afternoon, to suddenly having a similar moment of clarity so profound that it’ll make you wanna wall-twerk in the ice cream aisle of Jewel Osco [insert your friendly neighborhood grocery chain here].

Anything is possible. Let your inner psycho take the wheel, she’s a way better driver 💋

Documenting the 4th time I’ve done my makeup this summer by a full “executive style photoshoot.”

Let this go to show that Instagram is SO not reality. MY reality consists of the following: no makeup, 5 cups of coffee, my wild hair back pulled back in a somewhat-professional-clip-style updo, a work-appropriate top, sweatpants or gym shorts on bottom, all while conducting zoom calls and simultaneously re-hijacking my pens from my 7 month old cat.

Always take the social highlight real with a grain of salt. Always remind yourself that you’re doing the best that you can. Don’t get caught up in what you see online, things are often never as they seem 😉

2 months ago, I stopped reading the news. Not because I stopped caring, but because I realized that I’m not becoming a better person by learning of the ugliness that exists in our world. Instead, I choose to only fill my days with personal growth and positivity. The only way to make this world better is to make ourselves better. The only way to inspire change, is to be the change.

Keep It Simple, Sexy 😉
