You know those periods in life when you feel overwhelmed with seemingly all of the negative emotions that your body can possess? At the same time....
Confusion, self-doubt, irritability, discomfort, jealously, insecurity, some hate, LOTS of frustration... who am I kidding, it’s 2020, I’m sure just about everyone has felt all, or some combination of the above.
I have too... This year has been a whirlwind of stretching comfort zones beyond recognition.
All change has been with the goal of growing in a positive direction: Career change, city change, wild travel adventures, social media hiatuses, the list goes on. Yet, I’ve been so critical toward myself about how many negative emotions I’ve felt along the way. Positive change should feel good, right?
Not all the time. Not every second of the day. Not even every day. What most (myself included) forget to remember, is that change is hard. It’s brutal, it’s messy, it’s VERY uncomfortable, it’s discouraging, it’s all of these things and more. The yellow brick road wasn’t all flowers and sunshine, and yours won’t be either.
Go through it any way.
One day you’re going to wake up and feel the magnitude of all of the momentum you’ve been building up.
One day you’re going to see an old friend at the grocery store who comments on how fit you look, or you’re going to FINALLY make that sale you’ve been gunning for, or you’ll have a break through on that book idea you’ve been mulling over, or maybe you’ll feel that surge of motivation that you’ve been needing.
All you need to do is not QUIT. Don’t ever, EVER quit. You don’t deserve to quit on yourself.
Not sure where to start or just needing a mental boost? Best advice I’ve ever received: read 10 pages of a good (personal development) book, every day. Just 10 pages.
