I stand with my fellow Jews. I stand with all innocent non-radicalized people affected by these heinous acts. I stand with all Americans supporting Israelis who are victims of this terror.
And most importantly, I STAND FOR PEACE!
How lucky are we in our lives when there is peace. How eye opening it is when our collective peace is interrupted by terror. We must band together, stop our infighting, realize how lucky we are with every breath we get to take, hug one another, love one another, and pray for all the innocent lives affected and for the terror to stop. War and violence lead us nowhere. I am proud of my Jewish heritage. We are survivors. I pray for peace. ☮️

A story. This is Paul Williams. Legend of music and TV. He wrote one of the best songs ever, “Rainbow Connection” among many others. We got to talking at the epic show at the bowl by my buds Portugal, the Man. Besides the killer show, here’s what’s amazing. In the 1970s, Paul Williams performed for the kids at one of the camps my grandfather founded, Camp Hess Kramer. At first I asked Paul about this and about my Grandfather Rabbi Wolf. At first Paul said “Before 1990 I don’t remember much.” Paul said had a bit too much “fun” during these times before getting sober.
But then it came back to him. Going to the camps. Performing for the kids. The spirituality he feels with Judaism and being in a Synagogue. He almost converted! And what a great man my grandfather was. This meant the world to me to hear. We used to sing the song “Rainbow Connection” in the camp song book. Now I know why.

This is my grandfather, Alfred. Papa to me, Rabbi Wolf to many. I was thinking of him today and this picture stands out. An iceberg melting. And my Grandfather, No longer with us. People say memories fade. When I think of Papa, the memories grow profoundly clearer and richer as time passes. Thank you Papa, for continuing to enrich my life with each passing year. The iceberg will melt. But your influence only movingly solidifies with time. 💜

The folks in Michigan (white) charged the capitol threatening with guns. They were praised. The folks in Minnesota (many black) took to the streets without guns bc of years of pent up frustration because of injustice (I talked to one today) and they are fed up. They were told they’d be shot.
I don’t think either action is necessarily right. Storming a capitol with guns is idiotic and burning buildings in your city is not good at all. The reaction to these instances, both extreme, is what’s wrong. One group, White, is praised. One group, mostly black, is threatened to be killed. That isn’t leadership. That is racist and wrong. Logically, on any side, this isn’t politics. It’s common sense. We deserve better leadership than one that divides us further during crisis for the good of himself. Logic can unite us. We need it right now. Let’s dig deep and do our singular part regardless of a “side” we are on. Share this so we may spread a hope to unite with Logic and love.
