Simco Drops is pleased to present Leaders of the Old School by Brandon Deener, an NFT and print portfolio release. In Leaders of the Old School, 2022 Brandon Deener pays homage to three iconic visionaries of the 20th century civil rights movement: Martin Luther King Jr., James Baldwin and Malcolm X. With a loving hand, Deener renders each figure in supreme detail, atop Deener’s signature elongated necks. This lithograph triptych coincides with Deener’s debut solo exhibition Children of the Sun, Sol Searchin’, a survey of the artist’s recent paintings and works on paper, which depict his unique interpretation of Afro-futurism, Black Pride and figuration. ⠀

The suite of three prints that comprise Leaders of the Old School were printed as a duo-tone lithograph in Downtown Los Angeles, at the print studio of El Nopal Press by master printer Francesco X. Siquieros. Each set of prints is presented in an embossed sleeve, and includes a colophon that lists the project’s details, both produced by Brooke Granowski at Sorella Studios in South El Monte, CA.⠀

The artist's drop will start on 02/18/21 at 12:00pm PST. The collector who acquires Leaders of the Old School - #1 will also receive the corresponding physical print portfolio signed by the artist, #1 from an edition of 150 courtesy of Simco Editions. Please note the physical print portfolio is only redeemable once by the original collector of the NFT.⠀

Simco Drops is pleased to present Pandemic Animations by Jody Zellen, the artist's first NFT series. Pandemic Animations is a presentation of works created during the 2020 global shutdown, where the artist explored themes of isolation, monotony, and unease through her active animation practice. The variations in color, subjects, and fragmented narrative are akin to sketches in the artist's process of creating these works, culminating in a series of 250 animated artworks that capture a collective experience in a unique fashion.

"I think of my animations as digital doodles. They are a meditation on the disconcerting times of the pandemic, as well as a reflection on isolation, nature, urban space, politics and walking. Each short animation features simple shapes and stick figures that when seen together form a larger narrative about the trials and tribulations of life." - Jody Zellen

The 250 artworks will be released en masse on 02/11/2022 at 12:00pm PST to coincide with the artist's solo exhibition at Council_St Gallery in Los Angeles. Each NFT includes a link to the unique MOV video file via the IPFS gateway.⠀⠀

Simco Drops is pleased to present Triple Elvis by Alic Brock, the artist's first NFT series. Triple Elvis is an exploration of Brock's process, where he breaks up images into overlapping elements that are further digitally manipulated to produce a final composition that is then painted by the artist on a large scale as the finished artwork. Triple Elvis is a procedurally-generated experiment where the artist created variations from his master file to arrive at 333 unique NFTs.
