This series has pushed me beyond my comfort zone and challenged me far more than I ever expected. When I thought it might be fun to rewrite some parables into medieval romances, I never expected it to take so much out of me. I can't count the many tears I've cried over these books - in despair, pain AND joy.

But...

It's also taught me and comforted me and become more precious and part of me than I could have ever imagined. It's brought hope and healing and dreams I didn't dare dream. It's brought me new friends the world over who will be part of my heart and story for the rest of my life. It's brought joy, showed me just that little bit more of God's heart and the great expanse of His love, faithfulness and grace. It's humbled me and left me in awe of what God can do with my feeble words. And in sharing my heart through these stories (sometimes, I'll admit, more reluctantly than someone who wants to be a good little missionary should 😜), it's opened the way for others to share their heart with me.

From the spark of an idea, God has taken this series and made it more than I could have ever imagined and I am so, so, so humbled and grateful for it.

Time for another author spotlight!

1. Favorite place to write?
I love writing at home, ideally on the couch with my Earl Grey tea, or at my desk with my ergonomic keyboard 🙂

2. Earlybird or night owl?
Definitely a night owl. Most of Christmas in the Castle Library was written while the rest of my family was asleep

3. Mountains, beach or desert?
I love the mountains! Give me soaring views of snow-capped peaks in the summer (or though the widow of a cozy cabin with a crackling fire).

4. Favorite chocolate or snack?
I love almost anything with chocolate in it—especially dark chocolate. Right now, my favorite snack is chocolate chip banana bread…so delicious!

5. A fun fact about you or your book?
Christmas in the Castle Library is my first novel, but my third book. The first 15+ years of my writing career were spent writing nonfiction books, articles, and essays. However, my spiritual memoir and my most recent devotional, The Path to Peace, both have sections of Biblical fiction, even though they’re technically nonfiction books…so maybe I’ve been longing to be a fiction writer all along! 🥰📚
