Introducing... J. J. Fischer!

J. J. is the author of our newest WhiteCrown release, The Heart of the King, the first book in her Painted Wind series. While it's not her debut novel, it IS the first one she's published through WhiteFire and we're thrilled to welcome her to the family. 1. Beach, mountains, or desert?
Mountains! (Though I do love the beach, too.) "I want to see mountains again, Gandalf! Mountains!" (Yes, I'm basically Bilbo Baggins.)

2. Dessert before or after dinner?
I take your offer and raise you...dessert FOR dinner. Yes? Yes?

3. What's a book you're currently loving (or one that's been a forever favorite)
I continually come back to Edenbrooke by Julianne Donaldson. It's one of my all-time favorites!

4. Favorite drink?
Maybe ginger beer? Though I am a bit of a tea fan....

5. Favorite part of the writing process? (eg drafting, editing, proofing, marketing, it all being done and dusted!)
Drafting AND having it all done and dusted! Basically, skipping all the hard work in-between where one has to read the book about 5,000 times. :D

The worst monsters live within us.

Your words matter too!

In this day and age, reviews are even more important than product descriptions. I mean, think about it. When you go to order something new online, whether it's a shirt or a book or a kitchen appliance, what do you look at? The reviews! You want to make sure that other users found it to be pleasing, you want your questions to be answered, you want to know that what you're getting is worth the money you spend on it.

This is DEFINITELY true of books! The behind-the-scenes in the book industry involves a LOT of "We need to boost reviews on this" and "Do you think you can get that title to 100 reviews by this date?" Reviews feed algorithms. Reviews also feed READERS.
