*Pulwama Encounter: 01 militant killed, operation on*

Srinagar, October 20:(GNS) 01 militant has been killed in the intial exchange of firing in Hakripora area of South Kashmir's Pulwama district.

Official sources told GNS, that one militant has been killed in the initial exchange firing. However the identity of the slain militant is yet to be ascertained.

Pertinently two militants were killed in an Overnight encounter in Shopian.

Earlier, Reports reaching GNS that a joint team of Police and army's 50RR launched a cordon and search operation in Hakripora.

As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off an gunfight.(GNS)

Burglars decamp with cash, gold in Ganderbal

Ganderbal, Oct 18, : Burglars broke into the house in Thuru area of Central Kashmir's Ganderbal district and looted cash and gold.

Police sources told News Agency KNT that during the intervening night of 17 and 18 October, some unknown burglars stole Rs 85, 000 besides 3 golden rings and 2 earrings from the house of one Muhammad Yaseen Sofi in Thuru village of Ganderbal.

Sources added that the said house owner and other family members were not in their house during the fateful night as they had reportedly gone to some relative at Duderhama Ganderbal to attend a marriage ceremony.

Police have registered a case in this regard and set investigation into motion. (KNT)

Minor r***d by close relative in north Kashmir's Kupwara: Police

Police have registered a case in this regard and further investigation has been taken up.
A ten-year-old girl was allegedly r***d by her father’s cousin in Haihama area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
According to SSP Kupwara, Shri Ram Ambarkar, the victim’s family approached the police yesterday evening with a complaint against the accused. “Police swiftly swung into action and arrested him and the accused is presently behind bars,” said the SSP.
Police have registered a case in this regard and further investigation has been taken up.

CRPF man injured in Pulwama militant attack , area sealed

Pulwama,Oct 18: A Central reserve Police personnel (CRPF) was injured after militants attacked them in Tral area in south Kashmir's Pulwama district on Sunday.

Reports reaching Kashmir Despatch said that militants attacked CRPF party in Tral, injuring one CRPF trooper.

However, he was rushed to the nearby hospital for treatment reports added.

PRO CRPF Junaid when contacted told Kashmir Despatch that we are verifying the incident.

A police officer told Kashmir Despatch that soon after the attack whole area has been sealed to nab the attackers.

Forces arrest duo during search operation amid clashes

Pulwama, Oct 15, KNT: Clashes erupt in Astan Mohalla, Hergham Karimabad, a village of South Kashmir's Pulwama district this evening after Joint Forces launched a cordon and search operation.

Police sources told KNT that the village was brought under siege after inputs about the movement of militants.

Sources added that soldiers from 55RR, 183 Battalion CRPF launched search operation in the village. Youth hit to streets and clashed with the Forces.

Local sources said that search operation ended with the arrest of 2 civilians. (KNT)

Six 'militant associates' involved in Highway attacks held, vehicles seized: Police

Police have arrested six persons who they claimed were associates of the militants involved in recent highway attacks.
Addressing a press conference at police station Pantha Chowk, IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar said that a series of attacks took place from August 14 this year to October 5 that include an attack on police and SSB men at Nowgam, Srinagar on August 14 in which two policemen were killed and one INSAS rifle was snatched as well.
Similarly, on September 21, militants attacked RoP at new bypass and on September 25 militants attacked the CRPF party at Chadoora in which one CRPF man was killed and his weapon was also snatched.
On October 5, another attack was carried out at RoP of CRPF at Tengan, By-pass in which two CRPF men were killed and four others injured, the IGP said, as per news agency KNO.
He said in order to investigate the attacks, different teams were constituted by the police West Zone Srinagar.
Around 9 to 10 suspects were identified and subsequently picked up by these teams. The teams were able to identity the links through human intelligence. Raids were conducted in Chadoora, Budgam, Nowgam and other areas of District Srinagar. The suspects were subjected to sustained interrogation and during interrogation they confessed about their involvement,” the IGP said, adding that pinpoint location of the house where militants involved in these attacks were hiding at Barzullah, Srinagar was also obtained using human intelligence.
The IGP said that six militant associates were arrested that include Waseem Ahemd GAnai of Ganaimohalla, Chatergam, Chadoora, Faisal Mushtaq Ganai of Aribagh, Nowgam, Shakir Ahmed Dar of Marvel, Kakapora, Pulwama, Suhail Shabir Ganai of Ganai Mohalla Chattergam, Chadoora, Budgam, Umar Nisar of Iqbal Coloney Wanbal, Shakerpora,, Nowgam, Srinagar and Sahil Nisar of Aribagh, Nowgam.
He said that six vehicles were also seized from the arrested militant associates that include Tavera, Pulsar bike, Yamaha bike, Alto white colour, Alto-800 and another motorcycle.

Police use tear smoke shells after group clashes in Pattan, 4 persons including a cop injured

Pattan, Oct 16, : Police fired tear smoke shells after alleged group clashes in Pattan area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Friday.

Sources told news agency KNT that four persons including a policeman were injured after some people pelted stones on police at Gund Khawaja Qasim Pattan near Imambara.

“There was a religious function. One group tried to lead it while another group raised objections. This led to clashes and during these some people pelted stones on police when they tried to disperse them,” said a local on condition of anonymity.

Police used several tear-smoke shells to disperse the protesters.

A police official said that there were apprehensions that clashes may take place and that is why they had imposed restrictions. He said that some people resorted to stone-pelting when police tried to bring the situation under control after two groups clashed with each other.

Pertinently, police barred Abid Hussain Ansari from taking part in that religious function and placed him under house arrest.

SPO who went missing along with 2 assault rifles killed in Chadora encounter

Budgam, Oct 16, : A militant has been killed while another apprehended after a brief exchange of fire in Hardpora area of Chadora in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.

Unconfirmed reports said that the slain militant is the same SPO who had gone missing along with two AK-47 rifles from Chadora two days back.

Sources told news agency KNT that group of militants attacked on soldiers from 53 Rashtriya Rifles and Para-military troopers in Chadora. The area was cordoned off after the attack while in the orchards of Hardpora Chadora there was again exchange of fire.

During this exchange, a militant was killed while another was apprehended after he was trying to escape from the spot.

The slain militant has been identified as Altaf Ahmed while arrested one is the local who had gone missing a couple of days ago.

A police official confirmed the killing of a militant saying his identity is being ascertained.

Pertinently, Special Police Officer of J&K Police Altaf Hussain Bhat, a resident of Qazipora Chadoora, went missing with two AK-47 rifles from Special Operation Group camp Chadoora on Wednesday morning. He was working as an SPO for last five years. (KNT)

CRPF trooper killed, 3 others injured in Bandipora road mishap

Bandipora, Oct 16 (KNO): A central reserve police force (CRPF), personnel died while three other were injured after a vehicle they were travelling met with an accident in Nusoo area of north Kashmir's Bandipora district on Friday morning.

An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that today morning hours a Gypsy of 03-BN CRPF skipped off the road near Nusoo area, resulting in on spot death of one CRPF personnel and injuries to three others.

He said that the injured were shifted to district hospital Bandipora for treatment.

The official identified the deceased CRPF personnel as Naresh Kumar. The injured personnel have been identified as Ravi Raj, Ankit Kumar Gupta and Vinod Kumar.

Meanwhile, a police official said that a case under relevant sections of law has been registered in police station Bandipora—(KNO)

*SSB Trooper who Absconded From Camp In Nagam Chadoora arrested in Rajouri*

Srinagar, Oct 16 (GNS): A trooper of SSB who had “absconded” along with a magazine of his service rifle from a camp in central Kashmir’s Budgam district few days back has been apprehended by police in Manjkote of area District Rajouri.

Official sources told GNS that SSB trooper Altaf Hussain was apprehended by police from his native district along with ammunition which he had taken away from Nagam camp Chadoora.

A police officer told GNS that a case has been registered in Manjkote Police station in this regard and investigations have been taken up.

Its pertinent to mention that Commandant of the 14th battalion of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) had also made a communication to police station Chadoora after the the constable identified as Altaf Hussain (110734231) son of Alam Din of Rehan Koteranka Rajouri had absconded from the campus at Nagam at around 2115 hours on October 13.

The Commandant has sought registration of the FIR in connection with incident. A police officer confirmed to GNS that a communication has been received for FIR regarding the incident.

Srinagar, September 17:(GNS) Gunfight breaks out between militants and government forces in Batamloo area of Central Kashmir’s Srinagar district on Thrusday.

Kupwara Sep 06 (GNS): A leopard died due to electrocution in Lontha village of Karnah in north lKashmir’s kupwara district, official sources said on Sunday.

Munna bai MBBS type fake doctor arrested in Kupwara .

Kupwara, Sep 06 : The Jammu and Kashmir police on Sunday detained an alleged fake doctor practicing in main town in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

An official told the news agency API that police this afternoon detained the alleged fake doctor and initiated enquiry.

He said that the arrest was made after complaints about the individual practising at a private clinic in Kupwara town and is believed to be a government employee.

Meanwhile, a senior police official said that it is too early to say that the arrested man is a fake doctor or an employee of some government department.

“It will be clear only after thorough investigation into the matter.”

He said a case FIR no. 225/2020 has been registered at police station Kupwara and further investigation is going on.

Meanwhile, sources said that the alleged fake doctor is said to be a ghat munshi.

Pandach Militant Attack case solved: Police

Five accused arrested, two ambulance, two motorcycles also seized

Srinagar, Sep 04: Srinagar police on Friday said to have solved a Pandach Militant Attack and have arrested five accused persons in this regard and have seized two ambulance and two motorcycles from their possession.
According to police satetment issued to KNS reads, District Police Srinagar solved the Pandach militant attack case which took place on 20/05/2020, in which 02 BSF jawans of 37 Bn got martyred.
Police had arrested 05 uncategorized militants of ISJK who helped in transporting, logistics, planning and executing the attack, in case FIR no 48/2020 u/s 302, 395 IPC, sections 7/25, 7/ 27 Arms Act , sections 16, 18, 19, 23 ULAP Act of Police Station Soura. During further of investigation, 04 vehicles were detained which includes 02 private ambulances functioning at SKIMS , a bike and a scooty.
the statement further reads, Accordingly approval for seizure of the above vehicles was sought from the DGP JKP Dilbagh Singh - IPS. Today wide no. legal GB - 15/111/2020. DGP JKP Dilbagh Singh has accorded approval for seizure of the above vehicles. Pertinent to mention here that the ambulance JK01AD0915 was used to transport the militants from Bijbehara to Pandach, Srinagar.
Bike no JK01AH2989 and Scooty no JK01V 8288 were used to carry out the attack and escape after looting of weapons from the injured jawans. Ambulance JK01AF 9417 was used to transport the militants back to Bijbehara from Srinagar. Furthermore, categorized militants of ISJK involved in the attack have also been neutralized in two separate encounters at Zadibal, Srinagar and Hatigam, Bijbehara and looted weapons of BSF jawans have also been recovered, it said (KNS)

Pattan gunfight: Two militants killed; Army Major, SPO injured

As per the sources, one more militant is still believed to be trapped.

Two militants were killed while an army major and a Special Police Officer (SPO) were injured in an ongoing gunfight in Yadipora village of Pattan in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
A senior police officer told news agency GNS that another militant has been killed in an ongoing encounter, taking the toll to two. However, their identity couldn’t be ascertained.

The police officer further said that one policeman namely Naseer Ahmad also received a bullet wound during the exchange of fire. He was shifted to SKIMS Soura for specialized treatment.
As per the sources, one more militant is still believed to be trapped.
In the initial exchange of fire, a Major of 29 RR was also injured, who was evacuated to 92 Base hospital for treatment.
The gunfight broke out after a joint team of police, Army’s 29 RR and CRPF launched a cordon-and-search-operation in Yadipora.
As the joint team encircled the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them. The fire was retaliated by the joint team, triggering off an encounter.

Srinagar, September 04: A army Major has been injured in ongoing encounter in Yadipora area of Pattan in North Kashmir's Baramulla district.

Official sources told GNS, that a Army major of 29 RR has been injured in Intial exchange of gunfight in Pattan. He has been shifted to 92 Base hospital for treatment.

Intense exchange of firing is going on till this report was being filed.

Drug Deptt seizes over 1000 Corex bottle in Srinagar

Srinagar, Sep 2, : Drug Controller Department here in Kashmir capital Srinagar seized over 2000 Corex bottles from a rented room on Wednesday afternoon.

Sources told KNT that a team from Drug Controller Department, along with a police party from police station Karan Nagar raided a store-room at ‘Ismail Complex’ Chota Bazar Karanagar and seized over 2000 Corex bottles.

A police official while confirming the raid said that the said room was taken on rent by one one Adil Farooq, a resident of Tanki pora Srinagar.

He said investigation is going on.
Pertinently, Corex syrups are usually used by people mostly teens as substitute drug. (KNT)
