Earlier this year, I started writing and recording music for a fantasy VGM soundtrack - Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

First a radio series, then a book, then a TV show, then a film, Hitchhiker's Guide even stopped off in the 80s to release a game.

The game was partly written by Douglas Adams, who wrote every version of the guide. However, being released in the 80s as a text adventure, it was pretty much completely free of any audio.

When BBC released their 30th Anniversary "remake" of the game, it stayed similarly silent.

For my second volume of "One-Night VGM" recordings, where I produce a track in a single night thanks to my ADHD, I decided it would be fun to write an original OST for that silent game.

I got to work, and was quickly happy with the results.

On December 3rd, my Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy OST EP is coming to Spotify and other streaming platforms!

This time, it's a load of weird, messy prog-rock. The idea was to form a band out of 5 versions of myself, and try to approach every instrument with a different aspect of my personality.

(Absolutely love the album artwork to this, and would like to give a quick shoutout to the original artist - Tim O'Brien. It was painted for a magazine cover actually, but I went out of my way to contact Tim, and was honoured to receive his permission to use his fantastic art!)

The Sound Test has been forced into a lengthy hiatus due to a very difficult personal situation I'm going through.

Not only has my situation stopped me from working, but I don't even have access to my old equipment. It's not nice, and I wish I could keep the VGM going like I used to - but I'm far from done with The Sound Test. I miss it dearly, and still have many interviews to publish. So, I used my step-mother's laptop (yes!) to remaster this old show with Dale from the very beginning of 2019. That's why there are no pictures or anything fancy going on here.

Nevertheless, I hope you enjoy this time machine back to the past and I hope to see some of the old regulars in the LIVE chat!
