#16 in my series of classic is about as OG as you can find in the state. 1995 Downtown Bham is responsible for both and … yours truly, frankly. Though way back in those days it was the bus depot and Zephyrs for me. Boundary Bay has been Bellingham’s backyard for 30 years, and we thank them for it. Be sure to come have one more pint of this Scotch ale before they say goodbye late this summer.

The next classic beer in my series is the Raspberry Blonde. In at #15 this beer has been around since at least 2014, and unlike then, now you can enjoy it at any of their three taprooms.

The #14 in my series of beers that have been around at least a decade, is the Scotch Ale from here in their fancy newish Springhill brewery. A pretty new space for a pretty classic beer. This wee heavy has been brewed since at least 2013.

The #13 beer in my has undoubtedly gone through some revisions and tweaks, and maybe more over the years. Sticky Hands has been danking up the IPA scene since 2008.
Back in 2023, to celebrate the 15th anniversary, released a completely out of pocket anthology version using all the malts and hops of all the previous iterations. I want to say I remember it had 25 different hop varieties…

The next entries in my series are #11 & #12, a pair of decades plus old ales from Elliot Bay IPA and Demolition Ale. It’s complicated to make USDA Certified Organic beer, but these guys have been pulling it off longer than some of us have been old enough to drink.

The number 10 spot in my series is a certified standard of craft beer, and will likely be the oldest craft entry in the series.
Cascade hops come out of OSU in 1971, and into trials of this craft American Pale ale by 1980. As far as flagship craft ales go, Pale Ale probably sets the bar.

The ninth beer in my series is My Dog Scout, a flagship stout from almost 11 year old in Lacey. Named for one of the owner’s dogs, this decades old dark beer doesn’t need to learn any new tricks.

This 2024 GABF silver medal winner is my 2025 #8. It’s been made by since at least 2002. As far as family friendly brewery restaurants go… the Ram is hard to beat.

Blind Pig. Not only is this the oldest IPA they’ve brewed, since at least 2004. It takes its name from 40s slang for a speakeasy…

2025’s #5 is Rowdy&Dick from
Being brewed since at least 2006, through multiple ownership changes and well before the Tacoma Brewery District even has a steering committee. It’s named for the last two fire horses housed at the Engine House 9, so even the name is old AF.

Well #4 of the Ten Year Beers is a surprise vintage…
While has made this beer every season since at least 1997, the vintage they had at the taproom was a mere 14 year old 2010 release.

The #3 beer for 2025’s …
Crickey from it was their first American IPA. Invented back in 2014, and despite a few tweaks, or because of them, it remains their most popular beer. Very nicely it doesn’t give decades old… unlike your mom…

#2 in the Ten Year Beers series.
It isn’t next door, it’s not even out the door, in fact, it’s just two taps over. Lucille gets let loose early 2010, and as one journalist puts it, ‘Georgetown enters the IPU arms race’! On the list of things not older than 2010, many of these grain silos, and licensed drivers… but just. Sorry to remind everyone that early 2010 can just about get a learners permit…

2025’s 1st beer!
This is #1 in my Ten Year Beers series.
Georgetown Brewing opened well past 10 years ago, in 2002, and as many of you would know, this American pale ale was their first beer. They’ve brewed it ever since. Getting a pint of Manny’s at the source however, is not something most of us could have done in 2002, or even 10 years ago.

I’ve had 150 different fresh hop beers, brewed at 80 different breweries (not counting collaborative breweries), using 27 different hop varieties, grown on 28 different farms, in 27 distinct styles, so far this 2024 harvest season. 🫣😬🤣
