La Madeleine is opening a new location very soon at the Eastlake Marketplace.

La Madeleine is a French Cafe franchise where food is served cafeteria style for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The restaurant is designed to resemble the French countryside. Menu includes pastas, crêpes, quiches, chicken, salmon, and a variety of freshly baked goods and pastries.

The French restaurant has three locations: the Fountains at Farah, 6801 N. Mesa St, and 3440 Joe Battle Blvd.

WK Kellogg Co and the Sun Bowl Association have found that the two are GR-R-REAT teammates when it comes to hosting the annual Tony the Tiger® Sun Bowl. Because of that, there is a renewed contract for WK Kellogg Co to sponsor the Tony the Tiger® Sun Bowl game for at least two more years.

The Sun Bowl Association and WK Kellogg Co agreed to two years of sponsorship with the option to sign for two more years after the 2025 game. The Tony the Tiger® Sun Bowl features the first mascot to lend its’ name to a college football bowl game. What’s more, Tony the Tiger and the Sun Bowl will continue to promote and focus on the Sun Bowl Association’s inaugural mission – helping kids play sports.

El Beso Taquería is Now Open in Far East El Paso with their Mexican authentic tacos.

El Beso goes out of its way to give a nostalgic Mexican taqueria with love vibes. New location is bigger with lots of space and now offers barbacoa. Everything from the Coca-Cola tables and chairs that are in most street taquerías, the spanish theming on the walls, and a tacos mural. The menu includes quesabirrias, tacos, costras, quesa picsas, aguas frescas, elote, and a co**ha de nieve (while supplies last). All menu items can be accompanied by adding some of their salsas “que pican pero rico”.

The family-friendly event aims to invite and prepare the community for fostering the abundance of puppies and kittens in need. The event will feature hands-on activities and presentations on puppy training, bottle feeding, and fostering. Additionally, attendees can enjoy food and drinks, including a special brew from Old Sheepdog Brewery featuring a shelter pup on the drink can, with proceeds benefiting the Friends of El Paso Animal Services nonprofit. The event will also offer free pet microchips, discounted pet vaccines, and on-site adoption and fostering opportunities, (while supplies last).

Friends of El Paso Animal Services will be accepting much-needed donations such as puppy or kitten food and formula, training pads, blankets, and other items needed to support lifesaving programs. These contributions are essential in maintaining the health and well-being of foster pets.

Hey everyone, finally back from a well needed break. Kicking things off with the recently announced news of 5 Shipley Do-nuts locations coming to El Paso Texas.

The Houston based favorite is a doughnut chain known for its fresh, handcrafted donuts and kolaches. The plain glazed is still their most popular style, however they have over 60 varieties to choose from with a rotating assortment of new flavors as well.

El Paso County wants to upgrade Ascarate Park with an idea similar to San Antonio’s River Walk; turning the park into a tourist destination.

The plan is to build a large bridge across the lake and build shops, restaurants, and other smaller attractions along the sides of the lake. This plan is part of the County Commissioners’ hope to pass a $350 million bond in November for projects throughout El Paso. From this bond, $71 million would go towards Ascarate improvement and upgrades.

Locals are divided on the news saying that shops can be a great attraction to Ascarate, others saying the shops will ruin the peace and quiet of the park; and as usual, locals will joke on how the ware at Ascarate park is toxic. Write your thoughts in the comments below.

This bond won’t go through unless residents vote and approve it. The bond will be voted on in November 2024.

So why not just repair the existing Tramway? “You have to remember, the original tram was intended to provide services to the towers,” Raymond Telles, the agency’s executive director, said. “It was never intended for the public.”

The project is to be made in three phases. Phase one may include a loop road, more parking, shelters, a bus drop-off for school tours, and even a proposed amphitheater. Phase two includes a visitor center, and phase 3 will be the actual construction of the new tramway. For now, there is enough funding funds for phase one and solicitation for a contractor could begin in the coming months.

No start date yet. Phase one to take a year and a half to complete.

Yes, I know Im a bit late with this news, but to those who haven’t heard the news elsewhere… A new Amphitheater was approved by the city of El Paso to be built in the Northeast.

This new amphitheater is to have capacity to seat 12,500 people overlooking the Franklin Mountains. The $80-million amphitheater is meant to “rekindle” the Cohen Entertainment District Master Plan. The facility, dubbed the Sunset Amphitheater, will provide “elevated hospitality, top-tier audio-visual capabilities, premium food and drink offerings,” as well as 120 “fire pit suites.”

The Northeast El Paso Amphitheater is estimated to begin August 2024 and to be completed in March of 2026.

El Camino Crudo gives off a Miami Neo-Retro Aesthetic that offers classy tasty dishes and amazing cocktails to accompany them. This is one place where you can say the food matches the brilliance of the place. Menu includes cocktails, great seafood dishes, and more. My favorite cocktail: La Sirena.

Huge Shoutout to El Paso Local athlete Jesus Dominguez in being a confirmed athlete for the U23 World’s Strongest competition.

Born in Las Cruces, but raised in El Paso since most of his life. He’s been training as a strongman for about 2 1/2 years now and has competed and won/placed in many competitions over the years.

Jesus will be one of 16 competitors from all over the world. He’s the only person from El Paso to ever compete in the “World’s Strongest Man 23 & under” and this year he is the only competitor from Texas!

Orange Cow, a local favorite burger stop, has opened their second location at Mesa.

Local burger restaurant serving some of the juiciest and most mouth-watering burgers in town. Their menu is simple, the same burger with added patties and great fries. Fries can be upgraded to loaded and they offer shakes as well.

Sol K-dogs Opens new location at Downtown El Paso.

Sol K-Dogs is a restaurant in El Paso, Texas that serves Korean food, including Korean kimbap. Menu includes original k-dogs, potato k-dogs, spicy k-dogs, and refreshing drinks like milk boba teas, and tropical home drinks both with a variety of flavors.

Note: Downtown location is run through a window therefore there are no indoor seats available. If you would like a sit down experience, there is the first location at Zaragoza where most of the pictures were taken from.

Sunland Park Cheeba Hut is Now Open, the cannabis-themed restaurant and bar undisputed local hangout for curing cottonmouth and the munchies!

The Sunland Park crew believes it is essential for the new location to not only reflect the history of El Paso but embrace the inviting nature of its community of residents. They plan to articulate these principles through a massive central mural and a large bar for the community to come together, mingle, and even catch a local game. El Paso Comic Convention 2024 was a BIG success!

El Paso Comic Con is a community-based pop culture experience for all that reflects today’s and nostalgic fandom and the unique nature of El Paso, Texas with the American Southwest. At El Paso Comic Con you get to indulge in all your favorite fantasy, sci-fi, and other pop culture genres, such as comics, games, film, television, and more! You’ll also get to attend panels and workshops hosted by creative pros as well as get autographs and photo ops with your favorite creators and celebrities!

El Paso comic con was great, met lots of great local vendors also from Las Cruces and from all over. Got to attend amazing panel. Met some of the original American Gladiators .ice.fetrick who were amazing. Dan Fogler was so funny, and the yellow ranger from in space and turbo interaction left me speechless. The con community was great and met some amazing cosplayers. Thank you All for a great experience.
