This is a very good example of a Tipping error calculation found in many establishments.
The correct tip calculation is based on pre-tax total not the total amount of the receipt.

Correct amounts on pre-tax bill:
18%: $2.96
20%: $3.29
25%: $4.11

For all of those naysayers that don’t believe there are restaurants that suggest giving out a tip larger than 20% here’s the proof.
