FG’s Response To Kaduna-Abuja Train Attack Weak -Peter Obi
====
The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, has slammed the Federal Government over its response to the terror attack on the Kaduna-Abuja train in March.
Obi took a swipe at the FG during the Arise TV Town Hall meeting for presidential candidates which held on Sunday in Abuja.
He said, “I believe there was a failure of intelligence processing because before that incident happened, from information available, there was already information of insecurity on that rail corridor as well as previous attempts and intelligence that were ignored. So there was a failure of processing and giving due attention to intelligence, which I would have promptly dealt with.
“Two, when it happened, government’s action and communication were weak. If I were commander in chief, we would have acted swiftly and though out that process, we would have remained in communication and at least showed consistent empathy to the family of those involved. We would have done it differently.
"And that shows the overall need to improve the intelligence processing and giving an immediate response when such situation arises.”
The terror attack which took place on March 28 led to the killing of some train passengers, some were injured and others abducted. Some of those abducted only recently regained their freedom.
