𝘊𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘰𝘧 𝘋𝘶𝘵𝘺: 𝘝𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘶𝘢𝘳𝘥 has a Filipina operator named Isabella Reyes. Isabella joined the Hukbalahap, a communist resistance against the Japanese. This means she is a forerunner of the NPA. The NPA was founded in March 29, 1969 by former members of the Hukbalahap and JoMa Sison. The Hukbalahap was one of the most prominent members of the NPA.
They were originally formed to fight the invasive Japanese, but extended their fight into a rebellion against the Philippine government for pandering to the rich and abusing the lower class. Known as the Hukbalahap Rebellion, in 1946 was thought to be put down through a series of reforms and military victories by Defense Secretary, and later President, Ramon Magsaysay, but in truth secretly assimilated as the NPA to resist the abusive military during Martial Law.
