In Utero is a free, self-published magazine that will feature art and writing from abortion activists, along with resources and instructions for people who need immediate care but either don't have access to/feel uncomfortable searching the web for info.
We welcome personal stories and essays advocating for change. Share your grief, your anger, your fear, your dreams for the future.
You don't have to be a master wordsmith or have a fine arts degree. In Utero is for the people by the people. It will be free and accessible online so that anyone can print the issues and distribute them in their communities. We especially want to reach people in under-resourced neighborhoods.
The google submission form is down below. If you're interested in volunteering as a reader or editor, you can use the form to do that too. We're obviously a small team at the moment and we'll need help circulating the collections.
Most importantly, we want this to become a community project and not a vanity one. We encourage publishing anonymously or using pen names, considering the personal nature of the material. These collections should represent the voices of the many and not those of a few.
We're aiming for the first issue to come out in July!
