That's Bobby Mahoney a couple of years ago at Bar Anticipation in Lake Como for an exceptionally fun live Springsteen On Sunday broadcast on 107.1 The Boss at the Jersey Shore!

Bobby seemed to be everywhere at Light of Day Foundation Winter Fest '24, and I'm excited to have him back on the show. He'll be performing live in the second hour - one of his and a Bruce Springsteencover that's never been done before on the show. Cool!

Bar A does breakfast right, and it's been a long 6 weeks since we've been there and I can't wait to get going. None of us are surprised that thrillist.com just named them the "Most Fun Bar" in the entire state of New Jersey. Come have fun with us tomorrow morning!

Greetings from Asbury Park, NJ, as Springsteen On Sunday on 107.1 The Boss is live this morning from Seahorse in the Grand Arcade on the boardwalk! It's the annual "Morning After" broadcast as part of Light of Day Foundation WinterFest 2024.

Last night's show at the Count Basie Center for the Arts was a blast - it's always a treat to enjoy the experience with so many friends and familiar faces. And the music? Another legendary night is in the books! Many of those music makers will be swinging by the show this morning - so please plan to come and hang.

The great staff at Seahorse have an excellent breakfast menu, not to mention beverages to warm you up. Hot fun in the wintertime!

We're a week away from Max Weinberg's Jukebox Headlines Bob's Birthday Bash as part of Light of Day Winterfest 2024 at the Count Basie Center for the Arts in Red Bank. Can't hardly wait!

And I really can't wait to welcome Max Weinberg back to Springsteen On Sunday tomorrow morning on 107.1 The Boss at the Jersey Shore. This will be the Mighty One's third appearance at LOD (first time headlining), and tickets for ALL events are on sale at lightofday.org

About the picture. I took it at The Stone Pony on 8/31/18. Given the opportunity to watch the show from next to the stage I took it. Max played every song that night the same way he does for 60,000 people at a stadium show. I am in awe of him. When they let folks up on the stage at the end (for "Glory Days" I'm thinking) I popped behind him and caught this shot. Did I say that I'm in awe of him?

25 years ago tonight, a team of great actors and brilliant writers in tandem with the incredible vision of native son David Chase once again reminded everyone just how cool that the great state of New Jersey is/was when The Sopranos debuted on HBO.
Cool that they’ve been running a season-a-day over the past week and a reminder of the amazingness of it all.

A couple of months later Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band would begin rehearsals for their Reunion Tour in Asbury Park and the eyes of the world were locked in on The Garden State.

Thinking of the wonderful Symposium a year ago at Monmouth University by the wonderful folks at the Bruce Springsteen Archives & Center for American Music.

Thinking about all the dreams that have come true since hearing those songs for the first time in 1973 on WMMR.
You couldn't make any of it up.

This morning on Springsteen On Sunday on 107.1 The Boss at the Jersey Shore it's the annual Year In Review show.

It's certainly been a year like no other for Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band, not to mention their many fans across many continents. Performers were under the weather and performers got better. Shows were postponed and shows were rescheduled. The European tour happened without a hitch and played to massive crowds. When all was said and done some 29 shows were moved to 2024, giving many of us something extra to look forward to in the new year.

Bruce did release one (1) new song this year, and guested with two (2) of his pals on a couple of others. This month saw two (2) releases from the Springsteen archive series (first time ever that I'm able to say that I was at EVERY show released in the series in a calendar year), so they'll be in the spotlight this morning. Plus, of course, some gems from the 2023 tour.

In many ways this was an extraordinary year in my world. In March, we celebrated Sunday morning # 1000 together at Bar A. In May, there was a Humanitarian honor from Fulfill. In October there was was Operation Panel Moderator at the symposium for the 50th anniversary of "The Wild, The Innocent & The E Street Shuffle" with the wonderful folks at the Bruce Springsteen Archives & Center for American Music at Monmouth University. And earlier this month, we celebrated 20 years of Sunday mornings together.

Year end state of mind. One thing that I surely love is bringing Springsteen On Sunday on 107.1 The Boss to Bar Anticipation in Lake Como once a month. Thrilled to be back there in 2024 - and back in the house again on 1/28.
It's a great hang and THANKS to everyone who makes the scene with us.
It got me to thinking about all of the great artists and authors and photographers and do-ers of good deeds that came on the show.

Eileen Chapman led the league with 3 appearances. And David Sancious (from Hawaii) was there - twice. There was a nice mix of new faces/voices and some longtime pals. Joe P has had quite a year - his song "Off My Mind" ended the year as the # 8 song played at AAA radio for the year. His new album on Atlantic Records is on the way. I'm excited that he'll be part of Light of Day Foundation Winterfest 2024 in mere weeks. And fact is that many of the names below will be at LOD, The Weeklings once again releasing their new album "Raspberry Park" at the Friday night show at The Stone Pony on 1/19 (also the Asbury Angels night). I love Christmas and can't wait to be LIVE in the studio this morning with 2 hours of amazing seasonal gems. You got Bruce & The E Street Band (but of course), You got Bruce with the Max Weinberg 7 and the Miami Horns in Asbury Park. There's Little Steven & the Disciples of Soul. There's Southside Johnny & the Asbury Jukes too (see them early as the Count Basie Center for the Arts on New Years Eve). We need a Big Man today and we've got one.by the name of Clarence Clemons. Glen Burtnik singing Robert Earl Keen in 2010? - yep, that'll work. And many many more!
