When the catcher calls for the slider down and away...
LOD 11
#tbt and some video that I just re-discovered. Light Of Day 11 was the occasion. 1/15/11 Bruce on stage w/Joe Grushecky & The Houserockers. I had this Flip Camera that I loved, but then the technology changed and blah blah blah and we broke up.
But. I did get this.
I love so many things about this. First of all, my vantage point was pretty, pretty good. Secondly, there are quite a few people who I'm very fond of right there in the front row. I spot Jane & Natalie & Michael & Jeanne among others. Cool perspective on Danny Clinch capturing the moment from the other side of the stage.
Enjoy.
When the rhythm section (hello Max & Garry) and speakers are bad ass enough to blow around a mannequin’s hair. That’s a good day.
The Light Of Day experience is something that I always look forward to.
So much music, so many great people to cross paths with...it’s always a longggg weekend filled with treasures big and small.
On Saturday night to get ready for his headline set, LaBamba was rehearsing the big band literally for hours. Most of those folks didn’t know each other, let alone having previously played together.
I’m always fascinated to watch Richie Rosenberg in the role of “Band Leader.” He’s on top of every little nuisance, and it’s amazing to watch the magic unfold. Later that night when they hit the stage, he was clearly a man on a mission. Mission accomplished!
Here’s a taste of LaBamba and the band rehearsing Bruce Springsteen’s “Rendezvous” with Greg Kihn, who had played across the street at McLoone’s.
