In the making of Writing Conversational Korean, we asked native Korean speakers 40 questions like, “what’s your plan for a perfect weekend?”, “what chore do you most hate doing?” and “where is a place you think everyone should visit?”
Hundreds of real people wrote in their answers and we collected over 1,000 unique answers spanning over 35,000 words.
✨ Here is a wordcloud of all the answers we received! ✨
The most common words were understandably “제가” and “저는” (I/me/as for me). Some other notable ones include “잘” (well), “다” (all), “것”, and “그” (that).
How many words do you recognise from this wordcloud?? Are there any you find surprising?
Note: this wordcloud treats the same word with different particles/attached grammar as different words because I’m not a professional data miner and it was too difficult to separate the words from their particles and embedded grammar forms 😅

We’ve worked hard the past few months to get Book Two ready for sale, and we’re so happy with how it all came together!!

There’s over 200 new questions about things like: dramas, movies, books, FOOD, pets, the environment… Plus new grammar videos, Korean YouTube videos, and answers written by native speakers!! Today I took a break from writing Book Two and just did my own study with Writing Conversational Korean: Book One! It was really nice to just focus on my own study 🥰 and it’s pretty amazing to be able to practice Korean with a book you helped write! Maybe I’ll be able to make it all the way through Book One before Book Two is finished 🤓
