My Music Career Was Ruined By ‘Dubious Team’—Terry G Laments

Rapper Gabriel Oche Amanyi, popularly known as Terry G, has linked the decline of his music career to his 'deceitful team,' alleging that they undermined his endeavours.

In an Instagram post shared via his account on Sunday, January 28, Terry G accused his former management of confirming bookings without his knowledge and failing to reimburse for shows he didn't attend.

He extended apologies to affected show promoters and Disc Jockeys, commonly referred to as DJs.

The ‘Akpako Master’ crooner wrote: “To all show promoters. I worked with a dubious team (managers) which created a false narrative about me. They accepted bookings without me being aware & even refused to refund shows I didn’t attend and put the blame on me without my knowledge.

“I am only but human and I use this platform to apologize for all that. I’m happy to clear this out as it has been reasons why y’all haven’t been hearing or seeing Terry G. Thank you.”

Declaring his freedom from the ban imposed on him in the past by DJs, Terry G wrote: “To all deejays. I have been cleared from the ban I had years ago. I have settled, I’m putting this out for the great ones who haven’t heard the information since 2020 to know that I’m no longer banned by the DJ association."

I still Feel Pains - Super Eagles’ Goalkeeper Gives Update On Injury

The Super Eagles’ goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali, has said that he still feels pain even though he was told that there was no injury.

In a video interview on Sunday, January 28, Nwabili said: “Yeah, I still feel pains in my leg, the pain is still there. They said no injury, but I am still feeling pains. But I’ll be fine."

Nwabali, who could not finish the match, was substituted in the 80th minute for Francis Uzoho after a collision with Cameroon’s Georges-Kevin N’Koudou left him in pains.

Reps To Hold Security Summit Over Plateau Killings

Worried by the recent killings in Plateau State, the House of Representatives is expected to hold a security summit.

At least 30 people have been killed in renewed violence in the North-Central Plateau State, where clashes between Muslim herders and Christian farming communities have erupted for years.

The killings and burning of houses have continued in Mangu town of Mangu Local Government area of Plateau State despite the 24-hour curfew imposed by the government.

Reacting to the violence, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajudeen, condemned the recurring attacks in the state in the strongest terms.

Tajudeen, according to a Thursday statement by his media aide, Musa Abdullahi Krishi, hinted that the lower chamber would take a strong position upon its resumption from the Christmas and New Year break next Tuesday, January 30.

“I am deeply saddened by the continuous killings in Plateau State. It is unfortunate and disheartening that this is happening at this time when efforts are on to tackle insecurity around the country,” the speaker was quoted as saying.

“I call on the people of Plateau State to live in peace with one another as they were known for years back. We cannot continue like this as a people.

“Our Creator, in His wisdom, brought us together for a reason, and we must continue to appreciate our differences and form a common front to tackle our collective challenges instead of killing ourselves. This path will only take us backward.”

He also promised to meet with President Bola Tinubu on the matter just as he called for peace on both sides. According to him, people must live in harmony with one another for any meaningful progress to be made.

Sanwo-Olu Welcomes US Secretary, Blinken, To Lagos

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Wednesday received the United States Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, at the Presidential Wing, Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos.

Sanwo-Olu disclosed this in photos shared on his X handle.

He wrote, "It was a pleasure to welcome the United States Secretary of State, Mr. Anthony Blinken, to Lagos while transiting at the Presidential Wing, Murtala Muhammed International Airport.

"We are always open to strengthening diplomatic ties and discussing shared interests for a brighter future.

"His recent words recognising Lagos' well-deserved reputation as a tech and innovation hub were great to hear as we stand proud as a breeding ground for innovative success.

Blinken unveiled the ‘American Corner’ in the Lekki area of Lagos State on Wednesday.

According to the US Embassy, since 2000, the US has launched 245 American Corners in approximately 60 countries.

‘American Corners’ serve as regional resource centres for information and programs highlighting American culture, history, current events, and government.

The facility unveiled on Wednesday braced the United States of America President, Joe Biden’s policy to propel digital transformation and foster a digital ecosystem in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Ondo Governor, Aiyedatiwa Approves Tayo Oluwatuyi As SSG

The Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa has approved the appointment of Tayo Oluwatuyi as the Secretary to the State Government (SSG).

This is the second time Mr Oluwatuyi will be appointed as SSG.

He was appointed as SSG by the late Governor Rotimi Akereodolu for nine months during his first term in office.

The Governor also approved the appointment of Abayomi Olasanya as the Chief of Protocol.

The appointments of the two personalities was contained in a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ebenezer Adeniyan.

Both appointments take immediate effect.

Meet The Newly Elected Ondo Deputy Governor, Chief Owolabi Adelami

Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, on Wednesday, nominated former deputy clerk of the National Assembly, Chief Olayide Owolabi Adelami, as the deputy governor.

Aiyedatiwa transmitted Adelami’s name to the House of Assembly for approval, hours after sacking all the commissioners according to a statement by the Chief Press Secretary, Ebenezer Adeniyan.

AN24 reveals some important things about Adelami:

Background:

Chief Olayide Owolabi Adelami, hails from Owo, Ondo state. He was born over six decades ago to the family of Oluka Oribokun by Pa and Mrs Amos Adelami.

Academic Qualifications:

He graduated from the prestigious Imade College in Owo before proceeding to The Polytechnic, Ibadan for his GCE A level and the University of Lagos for his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He further got an MBA degree from Ogun State University.

Work Experience:

After the completion of the mandatory one year National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in June 1983, young Adelami was enlisted into Federal Civil Service as an Accountant II in December 1983. He resumed to the Treasury Department of the Accountant General of the Federation office and in 1988 he was later posted to the National Assembly Provisional Office, Abuja as one of the pioneer staff of the Constituent Assembly which metamorphosed into the present day National Assembly.

In the discharge of his duty, Adelami had the singular privilege of setting up the Finance and Accounts Department of the National Assembly as we have come to know it. In 1996, he was invited to help in setting up the Accounts Department of the Petroleum Special Trust Fund.

After completion of these tasks, he was also beckoned to serve at the Family Support Trust Fund where, again, he helped set up the Finance and Accounts Department. He headed these departments between 1996 and 2000. It is noteworthy that the project of National Hospital, Abuja was executed and delivered during Adelami’s service period.

His sterling performances, years of experience and reputation as an astute manager of resources with enviable integrity saw Adelami being recalled to the National Assembly in 2000 to strengthen the Finance Department.

Three years later, he was made the Head of the Finance and Accounts Department. He remained in this position till 2007 when he was confirmed as a Director. The following year, he was nominated for a one year senior management course at the prestigious National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, Jos.

Political Relevance:

He remained the Deputy Clerk to the National Assembly until his retirement in April 2018. Adelami was an APC governorship aspirant in 2020 but stepped down for the late Akeredolu.
