Have you ever just wandered? A few weeks back, I just drove M25 ... not concerned about where I was going. Just pointed the car and drove.

I came to a split in the road. Flipped a quarter. Turned left and found the Pointe aux Barques Maritime Museum and Lighthouse.

The people were so cool!

And of course ... I captured their story.

Am I making a difference?

A question I ask myself. Probably a question you asked yourself.

Tonight, I’ll stand in front of a group of people and ask this question.

My job, my gift is to share the good news, the amazing stories of what’s happening in Michigan.

Tonight, I answer that question.

With a story.

Your story.

A story about how kids, through no fault of their own, wound up living in cars.

A story of how you came together to carry the burden to provide for these kids.

And your reward?

The smile of a little child.

The smile of a grateful mother.

A mother who can now spend her time, focusing on making sure that their child feels safe.

That their world is not ending.

That their child knows that she will always be there for them.

A story of how you inspired others …

Corporations, churches, community groups …

All who followed your example and gave their time, their money.

Thousands of people who like you opened their hearts, to show these mothers, these kids that you see them.

That they are not forgotten.

That they are loved.

A story about how a university stepped in …

Helping the Mustard Seed and other shelters to bring education, to help create businesses.

To create the very jobs these mothers so desperately need.

So that they can feel useful.

That they can contribute back to their community.

God only knows how this story will end.

Or maybe this story will never end.

A story that is still unfolding.

New chapters written every day.

A story that starts with you.

"Do you see me..."

For years, the people of Saginaw ask, "Do you see us?"

Only to be ignored. Dismissed.

They are doing amazing things.

I mention Saginaw when I travel only to get the side-eye in return.

That nasty reputation persists.

These past few weeks, Saginaw proved that they can compete ...

Compete in hockey ...
Compete to entertain people ...
Compete to host international events ...

The world watched the Saginaw Spirit win the Memorial Cup.

They earned it.

But this is only the beginning ...

God's not done with Saginaw.

High tech businesses are growing.
More High tech industries are coming in.
World class medical facilities and research.

No longer is it ... Do you see us?

But rather ...

"Stretch ..."

"You ready to be on a 3rd radio station?"

I blink at my screen.

Wait ... what?

I re-read the text. Did I mis-read that ... ?

I blink hard.

Nope. The words are still there.

I'm already humbled that two radio stations carry Total Michigan.

But that Tim and Lindsay believe in my show to extend it to their new radio station ...

Which they rebranded their stations (plural) to " Everything Classic Bridge FM"

Fitting that they now cover the Eastern UP and the Northern Lower Peninsula.

This puts Total Michigan in Sault Ste Marie, Mackinaw City, and Lansing.

Now we are reaching even more people ...

I'm honored.

It started with an itch ...

Call it a gut feeling, intuition, a longing ...

I wanted to start a podcast. But what do I talk about? What could I do?

My word for 2020 is Growth. Growth in myself, my family, my relationships, my business.

While I focus on this word, the theme of Leadership was laid on my heart. I can’t explain why. Or how. It was just there.
