Today is the first day of the Australian spring. Happy Wattle Day!

Wattle Day emerged as a day of importance in the early 20th century, though its purpose and meaning has continued to change over time. Today Wattle Day is commonly seen as a time to reflect on our shared Australian experience and to care for the natural environment.

Wattle is a recurring motif in Australian art, design, music and literature. It memorably appears as a symbol of resistance in Henry Lawson's 1891 poem, 'Freedom on the Wallaby' - a call to arms for striking Queensland shearers. To inspire the shearers, Lawson cited past struggles and acts of defiance, including the Eureka Stockade. The last two stanzas of his poem are often presented in isolation, emphasising the Eureka reference and connecting it powerfully with the iconic final line, 'If blood should stain the wattle'.

This poster, "Blood on the Wattle', was printed and designed in Melbourne in 1976 by Community Art Workers (CAW) - a collective of 100 members, established by artists Geoff Hogg and Charlotte Clemens. For information about CAW click on this link: http://www.communityartworkers.com.au

So the first trip away for 2021has been postponed :(
Fingers crossed we get to head out in the next couple weeks.
First trip is planned for Northern N.S.W. keen to hit the creeks and crevices with all this water around. Will be taking the sdc 2300 for a run while im there too.

G'day all :)
Thank you for the people who are already following me. This page means a lot to me as its wholly and solely dedicated to my children. I want to do some videos of my times on the hunt for the yella stuff. It's going to be something that they can look at when im gone and hopefully they see the enjoyment i get out of prospecting and possibly learn a bit too.

I've been involved with prospecting for just over 6 years and really enjoy my times out.
Currently running a Sdc 2300 with a couple of after market coils. This is my second Sdc 2300 and plan on keeping this one with a view of upgrading to a gpz 7000.
I also have river sluices, highbanker and pans. Just bought a steel pan so we will see how that goes :)

Panning is my first love with the gold. Love that raw feeling like the old boys used to do.
Something very rewarding sitting next to the creek and washing a bit of dirt for hopefully a nice reveal.

This is a huge step for me personally in doing this page as i do suffer some Anxiety issues and want to overcome these barriers as best i can.

I really hope people can feel and see the enjoyment prospecting brings me and i hope it comes through on the videos and images i will post.

Very happy to help anyone who is new to prospecting as we all start somewhere and need advice from time to time.

Im based in Brisbane and travel to Warwick, Gympie and love Northern N.S.W. with the borders opening up im looking at spending most of my times down that way.

In summary i hope everyone enjoys the page and if i get slack with posting give me a slap around the ears :)
