FF14 update: Completed The Ultimate Weapon MSQ. Got the fancy Shark mount from the fishing boat event. All non-combat classes are 30+. Fishing is like level 71 while highest combat class is 54?? Unlocked Samurai, Red Mage, and Blue Mage. Etc.

Will probably start adding more people to server hop and hang out soon. ^^

Today's Introspective Thought:

The need for perfectionism in one's work might be known to stem from childhood or other issues where others speak badly about a project or hobby they're into. We know it's from "not being good enough" with whatever we're trying but I don't think we fully process what that could mean.

We might be stressed about attaining something we feel satisfied with, but with enough experiences it can be an unattainable circle. We want to feel fulfilled in our work and we might not be trying to have the acceptance of others, but we never properly feel we've succeeded.

We can get so close to "done" but there's that anxiety about it possibly being better. That specific issue might be caused by repeatedly making something you've really enjoyed that has just been shot down by loved ones you respect/ed. Or maybe it's a constant (toxic) pressure to improve, as some parents or whomever can "encourage".

Perfectionism for me is unattainable but has been such a high priority for so long and it's made anything I've wanted and SHOULD be proud of just end up feeling to me like I'm "doing enough to not fail".

It's hard to ignore or redirect that drive for perfectionism. It's draining and demoralizing. We could have everyone close to us say something looks great or that we've done enough, but that little cloud of doubt and disappointment still lingers.

On a similar note, our negative stress about our work can come across very abrasive and those wanting to show support can end up feeling rejected. We know it's stressful trying to have us be more accepting and happy about what we've accomplished. For those trying to lift us up, it can end up feeling more personal and look like we're refusing their support or that we're not trying to be more positive.

It's a deeply ingrained negativity and it's going to be very difficult and take a very long time to change, if we have the capacity to process our issues effectively. Don't get me wrong, though. Having issues like this doesn't excuse us from wrongdoing. These issues are the reason we are this way and we need to take accountability even though this conditioning isn't our fault. It shouldn't be used as an excuse to avoid consequences from any damage we may do.

I, personally, appreciate everyone who has ever said kind words or shown genuine happiness about something I've made. It's chipping away at that self-critical bias little by little. It may not have looked like it was making a difference at the time, but over the years it has made a noticeable impact.

Ngl I'm a bit sleep deprived and probably taking a nap right after this, so may have to come back and edit. Also, I don't know how to end this, so...

Exactly this. Protesting and abiding by the rules of the people you're protesting against doesn't work. Non-violent protests are very frequently met with violent pushback from authorities with full support from the political leaders above them.

The police have been heavily militarized, but why the f**k should they have been? They don't need tanks and s**t to use against civilians. Peaceful protests shouldn't be met with "non-lethal rounds" and tear gas. The authorities don't care if they hurt you at that point because it's just a power trip for them with no consequences.

The cards ARE stacked against anyone not fitting the right criteria that political leaders have in mind. If someone says there is no discrimination or excessive force used, they're either being malicious or they've never had to see or experience the things they're denying.

All of this should make you angry. If you're indifferent, then you need to learn about the dark parts of your country's history and stop being in denial. People need your help now but you're also far more at risk of facing similar attacks than you think. That's why you shouldn't sit quietly and let it happen.

I want to post a quick explanation for why I haven't really posted spicy content.

It's impossible to put my mind into lewdposting mode when we have all this crazy s**t going on around the world.

I said this before during the last presidential election: Biden is no better than Trump and harassing people into voting Biden over independent candidates is toxic as hell and complete bulls**t.

Yeah, Trump is out of office but we have Biden completely supporting and funding the genocide being committed against the Palestinian people.

There's a lot of anger and frustration in me because of how these people in power just get away with such evil acts. That feeling overrides any creativity I try to focus in other areas.

This whole mess is just one of the many issues the world is facing and I can't ignore that.

There's a card game in the final fantasy franchise called Triple Triad. It was my favorite minigame in FF8 and I get to play it again in FF14.

It's such a creative game and really gets you thinking with the different rulesets and deck possibilities. Love it so much. XD
