People are asking me what's my favorite Gundam Movie.

Well it's Gundam Mobile Suit Cucuruz Island -

It's a refreshing change from the usual battles between opposing Mobile Suits. The movie delves into themes of camaraderie, humanity, and the consequences of war, with the unlikely alliance between the RX-78-2 and the Zaku making for a compelling narrative twist. The movie has that unique, almost nostalgic feel of the original Mobile Suit Gundam series, but with a more intimate, character-driven story.

That scene where the Zaku and RX-78-2 team up is such a powerful moment because it challenges the usual "enemy vs. hero" trope and highlights how individuals can find common ground even in the most hostile of environments. It’s a message about understanding and mutual respect, which is pretty rare in the Gundam universe where the focus is often on conflict.
