Lindsey, you’ve been my shotgun for so long... We’ve been through more together than anyone should be expected to survive, yet here we are. You’ve followed me through thick and thin, and helped to pull me from the “yuck” every time I insisted on diving back in. It may not have been the way I wanted or thought I needed, but whatever it was, it was required - for the both of us to be here, today. I look so forward to our next 30 years together, or wherever we find ourselves in this wild world, as long as it’s together, but most importantly to me, I just look forward to your coming home from work this evening.
Some may say, “ride or die,” but “walk, ride, fall, run, fail, speak, listen, lead, follow, or whatever you need from me,” feels more appropriate these days. You’re my human and I couldn’t think of a better place to be than here with you.
While this photograph isn’t perfect, it’s gritty because there simply wasn’t enough light. It wasn’t the camera’s fault, yours or mine, any more than it was the basket of chips’ fault. Our perspectives, reactions, and responses, have been shaped by our past, before that past and the many pasts prior to even that past. Having said all of that, the only past I’m worried about these days, is noticing you every time you walk across, or even near, my path.
You and me, Linz
I love you, Baby.
