The good times go by fast. Happy new year
Cans over the decoys are a special thing! #duckhunting #waterfowl
Countless limits with dry feet thanks to @highndryoutdoors For years now they've kept me dry from end of the flyway to the other. Thankful to have found a company that is committed to excellence, committed to making the best wader on the market.
A good rain out is hard to beat. Doesn't get much better than the one in the last video. Nothing like the shared experience of opening up on a group with your buds and everybody getting their's. Those are the ones you remember. One of the better parts of duck hunting in my opinion. #duckhunting #waterfowl
Unfortunately I've seen the fire go out in a lot of hunters but i hope and pray I never get tired of shooting mallards over the decoys. #duckhunting #waterfowl
If you missed the lastest Canada video, it was a doozy. Canvasbacks, pintails and mallards on an awesome pothole marsh. #duckhunting #waterfowl
When you Arkansas a lot, its amazing how you learn to shoot through obstacles. Afterwhile you completely block it out. #duckhunting #waterfowl
If you like ducks in tight be sure to check out last night's video. We got them pretty good on some Arkansas flood water. #duckhunting #waterfowl
Sometimes you just have to sit back and soak it all in.

We hit a loaded farm pond in tonight's video. It was absolutely loaded! Plus a bonus band.

It takes a lot of things going right and working in your favor to get a big group of mallards to do it absolutely picture perfect, right in front of you in the decoys....especially in wide open terrain. Timber is a little easier. So often they will tilt a little bit and finish just off to the side or half of them will bail out at the last second. This group picked up at the end...probably because i was on a wide open, barren bank in a layout with a few pieces of driftwood. Not the best scenario for a group this size. Not to mention a little gun click for the follow up shot. So often is the case for those of us chasing the feeling of watching a giant group of mallards fluttering at 10 yards in the decoys. But thats what makes it a worthy chase. You dont get it often and when you do...theres nothing comparable in the hunting world.

The transition from summer to fall is the best time of year. It's coming on quick

Strong north wind and taking em at 10 yards...my kind of day. #whatpressure

If I had to sum up what type of duck hunting I've done throughout my life, a large portion of it would be this. Sitting in some willow trees and buckbrush, shooting mallards fluttering over the decoys. Not many (if any) other ways I'd rather do it. What also stands out in this clip is the final "finisher" calling sequence. I often dont even realize I'm doing this until I go back and watch the video...but it can be extremely effective. It's usually an all or nothing though. Either it puts the birds exactly where you want them, making them close the distance a little more than they other wise would have, or it bumps them and stops them from finishing (especially late in the season). Just got to play with it and see what they want on each particular day. #mallardmonday

Far-lite prevention specialist. Its nice to have an extended range for the days when the ducks just won't play by the script, but there is hardly anything worse than poor shot selection leading to crippled birds. Sticking to shots you have full confidence in will drastically reduce your cripple rate. And having good shooters on stand-by to back you up. #waterswatterforlife
