In the year 2004, I borrowed about $350 and set up my company (publishing house) and called it (Kayan Corp).. This is it's page link:

I started working from my home... and printed the first 3 small books... and I was distributing myself.
In the year 2006, I was able to pay off the debts and rent a apartment to become the headquarter for the publishing house, also I hired two people to help me in work.
In 2008 it got a good reputation in (Egypt) and all the Arab world.. and the number of employees reached 5.
In 2010, a strong and triple house was launched.. and I had obtained the rights to translate (The Hobbit) into Arabic from (Harper Collins) U.K.
Published with my publishing house the most Egyptian leading writers in the fields of science fiction, horror, espionage and literary fiction. Also, The number of employees reached 10, between a fixed wage and a commission.
Then, the revolution broke out against (Mubarak) in 2011. So business stopped and economic conditions worsened - as happens in any country with a revolution.. Here I decided to take a bold step, which is to establish a small printing press that helps print my publishing house’s books and saves on printing expenses for others.. The number of The books published by the publishing house are about 200 books, which is equivalent to an average of 20 books per year.
Indeed, within 4 months, the printing press had begun to work.
Also included in the publications of the house are political books by major and world-famous writers.
And the economic problems began when the bookstores failed to pay their debts to me in the ears 2011 and 2012.
The house had gained great fame and many writers began to want to publish in it.
During 2012 and 2013 we published about 100 new books (other than new editions of successful old books).
Then we signed a contract with (New Line Cinema) in U.S.A, to give them approval for the film of ( The Hobbit ).
Many people imagine that the publishing house’s profits have reached the equivalent of $300,000. In fact, the house has become indebted to about $5,000 and has financial dues with others of about $35,000, meaning that the net profit after debt collection is 10% of what people think of us (30000$) But it is suspended !.
The reason of why didn't the publishing house turn out more profit as expected was:
1- I refused to lay off workers or save expenses after the post-revolution economic situation.
2- The bankruptcy and closing of the businesses of some of those who owe to the publishing house in large amounts that have become (bad debts).
3- Some accidents also occurred, such as the explosion of a main water pipe in one store and another internal explosion in the other. Rainwater also leaked into the publishing house's exhibition stand at the book fair twice in two years in a row.. The losses were huge.
From 2014 to 2017, I tried to continue working and reduce expenses and employees until it came to the point that since 2015 I have been working alone and closed the printing press and borrowed a lot of money from all my acquaintances… then I paid part of it and I still owe a large part, and I accumulated taxes and authors’ Financial receivables.
It became disastrous for me.
The truth is that I had never thought of crowd funding and donations before, but it is the advice of a friend of mine.
I am 48 years old, married and have two daughters. I had a slight heart problem. Five cartilage injuries and a sprain in the spine. My personal life has become very difficult financially.
I have been looking for a job for 3 years, with no benefit, due to my age or health conditions.
My main wish is to be able to pay debts, taxes and to resume my activity again.. also for my publishing house to return to work and to return to issuing books and disseminating thought and culture. translation activity. comics publications. To help young writers to publish their work.
This is a dream, my friend told me to try here, so that it might come true.. I will not lose anything.. he said.
