PASTOR Runcie Mike WROTE A LETTER ✉️ BEFORE HE DIED!
TITLE: YOU'LL READ THIS & THINK I HAVE SENSE📌
We are loosing alot of pastors lately to sickness & even death due to the level of stress that ministry exposes you to and partly also the desire by a few/some to fit into the "superhuman" mold that makes them seem infallible or insusceptible to human proclivities.
So many are leaving the ministry for other things cuz they are tired of the "unrealistic expectations" placed on them to be there for everyone but themselves, and many can't even find themselves again.
Some are experiencing serious burnouts and rarely even take out time to take care of themselves hence not being able to take care of the work any longer like they should.
We are having a very SERIOUS DECLINE in the number of young people answering the call to ministry these days.
Please I beg you, if you see or meet, or even know any young pastor who is reaching young people these days, please do all you can to pray for them and encourage them, that's the generation reaching the next generation of believers that will carry this torch into an evolving world where the enemy is so intentional about getting them young at all cost.
Refuse to stand or side with the enemy that seeks to take out our young growing ministers please, refuse it and fight it, it's not about them, it's Satan's ploy to create a gap, but "shim" came too late.
If you feel they are not doctrinally sound or balanced, then do unto them like what Aquila & Priscilia did to Apollos by taking them in to show them the gaps prayerfully, so they don't feel attacked.
Calling other pastors and forming cliques against these young ones is very unfair because you grew too and you made your own mistakes when there was no WhatsApp & Instagram so calm down.
The older ones only like to share about their successes but will never share about their struggles too in their growing days so the younger ones could be inspired or learn from their growth, ooh, I forgot, they had non.😒
There's a generation that you'll never be able to reach but these younger ones can reach them cuz they understand the language of that generation, and we all know that language can be a barrier sometimes.
If you like organise Jean services & tag your program Gen Next, e no go work...you don't get it, do you?
You just end up looking like a clown before these young ones and you'll keep on loosing them.
If each time you think of the next generation, it's meat pie & popcorn 🍿 service that comes to mind then you have missed them completely cuz you think they are just excited people who lack depths, but that's not true.
If these young ones are trained properly they process very fast and have strenght to prevail in the practice of the things of the Spirit.
So if you have interest for the next generation, you're gonna have to learn how to come down from your high horse and provide some sort of mentorship and guidance for the younger ministers.
Give them access without tithes or seeds, sit with them and share, not just your achievements but your pain too and even your struggles and how you grew, hold back nothing, let them know to the level you sense they can handle, step by step.
Ask them to see you once a month and sit with them to do a course correction if you feel they are going off, make them trust you enough to talk to you without it reflecting in your next sermon of this generation of pastors (shey you had no other message abi?).
Dear young pastor if you are reading this, I have so much to write to you in my next write, but for now I just want you to know that so much depends on what you do with your calling, give it your all and hold back nothing, don't let anything put you under pressure so you don't grow out of shape, avoid deep dimensions and stay with the simplicity that is in Christ.
Avoid making statements with a level of absolutism cuz you just came sir/ma, give things time, alot of time so you don't say one thing today and cancel it a few years from now, stay learning, unlearning & relearning.
Please I repeat, if you know a young pastor or meet any, please continue to pray and encourage them the much you can, the weight of the next generation lies on their shoulders.
If you're young and you are getting mixed signals of a call, not because you can quote scriptures or lead prayers oo, but you sense a call and you don't know what to do, please take out some time to pray and fast and don't be in a hurry, pray - fast, repeat that again, there's safety and clarity in the place of prayers for you, then trust God for the direction He gives you even as you speak with your pastor, trust God.
Again, you'll read all of this and think I have sense🤣🤣🤣
