Hi some off you might wonder why we have not put out any new video for a while and there are sctually 2 reasons for that;

one is that i have had simular symptoms as before I had a stress breakdown a couple of years ago. I therefore have cut down on ”the musts” that I put up for myself. We never had the ambition to grow into a big channel we make the videos for fun and to share our middleage adventure, hoping that we can bring a little bit of the sailing lifestyle to your screen for entertainment and perhaps a little bit of inspiration. When my father died a bit more than 8 month ago I lost one of my key drivers to create the videos because I knew he would have loved going on an adventure like this and he loved watching the videos. I am struggling a bit to get my motivation up again.

the secound is much simplier we are currently doing a major swap out off batteries from AGM to lithium and its taking much of our time

But hopefully we will soon be back creating much more energized

We are on our way back to Frida in Marina di Ragusa while we are waiting on our next flight in Rome Litza is making new friends this time a guy from France with 3 cats and a Italian lady with one cat.

Yesterday we arrived in our winterberth in Marina di Ragusa but appart from checking in we where to tired to do anything. We got both calm but also eventful nightssil from Taormine to Ragusa calm because it was light wind and only smal waves and eventful because on this very last sail for the season just we had a dinner watching the sun set over Sicily we heard our fishing rod go out quite slowly but definitly something was on. First Anders thought it was just some plastic but when it came closer to the boat we saw it was a fish it was a long fined tuna or Bonito that weight 9 kg it took 2 hours for me to get it into the freezer. Now we have many nice fish dinners to look forward to while we go in with our winterproject. Anders has already fixed the first.. changed our Italian guestflag coming up later is electrical upgrade because our old AGM battery housebank is finished they charge up and die again for the slightest load.

A little late but now we just publiched our next episode. In this episode first we sail to the Sailing and Anericas cup mecca Barcelona where we also fix our waterpump again.. then we continue north and sail straight into the mighty Lion of the Mediterranian Sea - Gulfe de Leon and thereby we close the Spanish chapter of our European sailing adventure.

Today we sailed 62 NM from Tropea through the Messina straight down to an Anchorage outside Taormine. We got the full Messina experience package with current against us up to 3-4 knots current swirvels, wind burst and wind accelerations to allmost twice the forecast up to 32 knots, another sailor who thought it was a good idea to cross right infront of us(both motoring) in the narrow part and ofcause a ferry that didn’t moved an inch to lets us pass so Anders had to bear away but it was to close for my comfort. But dispite all that we really had a nice day on the water and we still think we had a beautiful and calm passage through the narrow straight most of the strong wind actually came later but we had a broadcreach with following seas so it was quite comfortable in the boat.

Yesterday we rented a car and drove over to the other side of the peninsula to Roccella to visit our friends in Vision(our buddyboat over the Bay of Biscay) as a bonus we also met Jessica från SV Taipan. We had a fantastic drive over the mountains a good lunch meeting great people. So this is one of thise amasing days we will remember for a long time.
