The Deerfield Police Department responded to a call this morning, May 14, 2021, from an adult female who was touched in a lewd manner by an unknown male suspect while she was jogging along the 1300 block of Greenwood Ave. Shortly after the call, an individual was located and identified as the offender and charged with Battery.

**Deerfield Election Results**

Incumbent Sari Montgomery was the top vote-getter with 1,876 votes (18.21 percent). She will be joined on the board by fellow incumbent Andrew Morrison (1,724 votes, 16.73 percent) and winning challengers Kelly Jakymiw (1,855 votes, 18 percent) and Maureen G. Wener (1,800 votes, 17.47 percent).

Six candidates were vying for three seats on the Park District Board on Election Day. Challenger Debbie Serota was the top vote-getter with 1,308 votes (21.49 percent), according to the Lake County Clerk's Office. She will be joined by incumbent Rick Patinkin, the current president, who received 1,055 votes (17.33 percent) and fellow challenger Michael Brown (1,036 votes, 17.02 percent).

There were nearly twice as many mail-in ballots cast this election compared to the 2019 consolidated election

Early voting hours start Monday, March 22, and run through April 3 for the April 6 Consolidated Election. Early voting locations are open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. This year, Deerspring Pool, 200 Deerfield Road, will serve as an early voting site. [update: the village website says pickup is delayed until tomorrow.]

In a semi-exclusive interview with customer service at Waste Management, we learned that Deerfield residential pick-up IS currently planned for today (although the website status search incorrectly says some Deerfield addresses are rescheduled).

If you have questions about your address, Waste Management number is 800-796-9696.
