BREAKING: Ayu ungrateful, arrogant, Wike hits back

Rivers Governor Nyesom Wike has lambasted the National Chairman of his party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Senator Iyorchia Ayu for describing him and members of his team as children.

Wike, who took exemption to Ayu's remarks that Governors demanding his resignation were children when they formed the PDP, said the party helmsman has displayed the highest level of ingratitude.

He reminded Ayu that those he referred to as children were the ones who made him PDP Chairman.

He said Ayu lacked integrity for not keeping to his words before he emerged as chairman and warned Nigerians to be careful of a party, which could not keep to its internal promises.

Describing Ayu as arrogant, the Governor alleging the PDP chair was fixated on the N14bn the PDP raised during primaries and desired to be the manager of the money.

What FG Must Do To End Strike – ASUU

The Academic Staff Union of Universities has outlined steps the government must take to end its six-month-long academic strike.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Yesterday, ASUU President, Prof. Emmanuel Osodeke, said the government must exhibit transparency.

“Government should tell us and Nigerians – the money that has been alleged to have been approved for revitalisation – how much is it and where is it lodged? When will it be released?” Prof Osodeke said.

The university don added that the government must clearly state its position on the University Transparency and Accountability Solution (UTAS), a payroll system which ASUU wants as a replacement for the Integrated Payroll and Personnel information system (IPPIS).

“Three, have they accepted the agreement we reached with their panel? They should come and tell us this, and not go to the press,” Prof. Osodeke said.

The ASUU President accused the Federal Government of appealing to sensibilities rather than solving the issues raised by the union.

“Strike is a symptom of a problem,” Prof Osodeke said. “Any day you sort out that problem, you will not have strike.”

Police Officer Accused Of R.aping 17-Year-Old Girl And Her Friend In Rivers

A policeman identified as Salihu Kazeem, has been accused of of ra**ng a 17-year-old girl, her friend and filming their n.u.de at his residence in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Narrating her ordeal to Punch , the victim said Kazeem allegedly stripped them n.a.ked, took their n.u.de video and r.a.ped them after accusing them of using his ATM to steal 500,000 naira from his account.

According to the victim, she was job hunting sometime in March 2022, when a friend introduced her to the policeman.

"He accused us of stealing when we returned his Automated Teller Machine card which he gave us to get something to eat after a friend introduced us to him. He claimed that he received many debit alerts and when we asked for the amount, he said N500, 000," she narrated.

"He discharged my friend and kept me and the girl that went to buy food in his house. He called his boys and told them that we were thieves.

"He asked us to take off our dresses and filmed us as we were n.a.ked. He said if we don’t cooperate with him, he would spread our n.u.de videos. He took us to a room and slept with us till the next morning.”

In his reaction, Kazeem, while denying the act, described the victims as hook-up girls, adding that they consented to the s.e.x.ual act.

He, however, said the girls used his ATM card to make several withdrawals after one of the hook ups.

"When they came to my house, I gave one of them my ATM to buy food. They left with the ATM card and I didn’t see them till 11pm. None of them called to tell me anything. The only thing I was receiving was debit alerts. I tried to reach one of them that her friends connected me to for hook-up. She told me she gave my ATM card to another lady and said I should not be offended."

74-Year-Old Kogi Man Marries For The First Time

Speaking to journalists about why he waited this long before he settled down, Mallam Muhammad Awal said lack of financial resources discouraged him from approaching a woman for marriage.

His words, “I have always been afraid I might fail in my duty of care to a spouse if I married and it is something I fear and don’t want to joke with. I am also afraid of separation from my spouse.

I know if I fail to take care of her, she might either leave me or cheat on me with another man, which I would not like. So, to avoid all of that, I dismissed the idea of marriage altogether. But now, Allah has made this a reality. Many of them looked down on me, mostly because of my financial status. But I thank God it is in the past”.

Obi, ‘Political 419’, Taking OBIdients For A Ride Of The Century —Keyamo

Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo, has branded Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, as deceptive in his political pursuit.

Keyamo, in a post obtained from his Twitter handle on Saturday, said the former Anambra State governor was working for PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, in the background.

Keyamo’s claim came amid speculations that Obi might work for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) counterpart in the 2023 general elections.

Obi on Thursday was reported to have had a meeting with the former President Olusegun Obasanjo, the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike and other Governors of the opposition parties in London

It was speculated that the meeting was part of negotiations and alignments towards the 2023 general elections.

Speaking on the development, Keyamo said Obi was taking his supporters for the ride of the century.

He added that the All Progressives Congress (APC) would always stand ahead of other political parties in the country.

“We told the OBIdient soldiers that their ‘hero’ was taking them to nowhere; taking them for a ride of the century and for political 419! We laugh! We are ahead of them!”, the Minister said
