Today is yet another vital day for Scotland at the 2023 World Bowls Championships, with the group stages of the Women’s Pairs, Women’s Triples and Men’s Fours reaching their conclusion.
Depending on their results, Scotland are well positioned to qualify for the quarter-finals of both the Women’s Pairs and Men’s Fours. Our Women’s Triples team of Carla Banks, Stacey McDougall and Caroline Brown also have an outside chance of advancing if they win and other results go in their favour. Meanwhile, in the Men’s Singles, Iain McLean has a busy schedule with another five group matches to be completed over the next two days.
📺 Emma McIntyre and Claire Anderson’s penultimate group match in the Women’s Pairs against Cook Islands can be viewed on Bowls Australia’s Facebook live stream tonight at 2.30am (BST).

Scotland are all set to go for gold in the Para Women’s Pairs and Men’s Triples on day five of the 2023 World Bowls Championships.
Rosemary Lenton and Pauline Wilson will be hoping to add the World Championships crown to their Commonwealth Games gold medal from 12 months ago. Standing in their way of a historic double is New Zealand’s Julie O’Connell and Teri Blackburn, who the Scots lost out to during the group stages.
Our Men’s Triples team of Paul Foster MBE, Derek Oliver and Alex Marshall MBE will be looking to add yet another medal to their ever-growing CV’s. The multiple Commonwealth Games gold medallists come up against Corey Wedlock, Aron Sherriff and Carl Healey of Australia in what should be a thrilling final.

Update from the World Bowls Championships in Australia! Cam finished up Week 1 of the event with a strong performance in the Men’s Triples- where they beat the previously undefeated Team England 15-9. Unfortunately Cam and his teammates Rob Law and Owen Kirby were eliminated from playoff contention after a final round loss to Jersey 20-12. He’ll have a few days off of as they have the televised finals for Week 1 (which can be streamed via the Bowls Australia page) before kicking back up again on Monday at 7:30pm Halifax time in the Men’s Fours alongside his triples teammates Rob and Owen and John Bezear as they’ll face off against Thailand, Samoa and England (3rd game to be live streamed!). Good luck to Team Canada’s Kelly McKerihen as she heads into the semifinals against England tonight.
