*✅NBA stars extend support to Indian farmers, NFL’s Juju Smith-Schuster donates USD 10,000*

đŸ„ŽNEW YORK: American football league NFL star Juju Smith Schuster has donated USD 10,000 towards medical assistance for the farmers protesting in India against new agriculture laws, while NBA forward Kyle Kuzma has also extended his support to their cause.

The duo’s support comes after American pop star Rihanna, shared a news article highlighting the Indian government’s crackdown on the protest after it turned violent on January 26 in Delhi.

“Happy to share that I’ve donated USD 10,000 to provide medical assistance to the farmers in need in India to help save lives during these times. I hope we can prevent any additional life from being lost. ” Juju tweeted.

Kuzma, who plays for the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA, also shared the same article Rihanna had posted.

“Should be talking about this! ,” the 25-year-old tweeted.

Former NBA player Baron Davies also took to Twitter to highlight the farmers’ protest, urging people to spread awareness about the issue.

“Are we going to address what’s happening in India ? Let my good people free !! Unfair to those who struggle, the farmers provide a way of living and they need to have a right to a way of life.

“Join me and let’s bring awareness. ,” he tweeted.

Rihanna started the global chorus of support for India’s farmers on Tuesday.

“Why aren’t we talking about this?! ,” she had tweeted.
Soon several international celebrities including teenage climate activist Greta Thunberg and US Vice President Kamala Harris’ niece Meena Harris too came out in support of the farmers’ protest.

Thousands of farmers, mostly from Punjab, Haryana and western Uttar Pradesh, have been protesting at Delhi’s borders for over two months demanding repeal of the three farm laws and a legal guarantee of minimum support price for their crops.

Farmer unions have announced a countrywide blockade of national and state highways for three hours on Saturday when they would protest against the internet ban in areas near their agitation sites.

Sites of the farmer protest at Delhi’s borders have turned into fortresses with police beefing up security and putting up multi-layer barricades to stop the movement of vehicles.

Concertina wires have also been put up to keep off people on foot.

The strengthened security measures come after the violence during the Republic Day tractor parade by the farmers.

*‘Anti-farmer, anti-people and anti-country’: Bengal CM Mamata on Budget 2021*

The tussle between the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) and its main challenger in the coming assembly polls, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), intensified on Monday after Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced important road infrastructure projects for Bengal and a â‚č1000 crore package for tea-garden workers in the state and Assam.

Chief minister Mamata Banerjee branded the budget as “anti-farmer, anti-people and anti-country” during a trip to north Bengal where the BJP bagged seven of the region’s eight Lok Sabha seats in 2019. Union home minster Amit Shah, on the other hand tweeted in Bengali that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had released a grant of â‚č25,000 crore for “development of the state and convenience of its people” and â‚č1000 crore for the “welfare of tea garden workers”.

Among the salient points of the Union budget was the allocation of â‚č25,000 crore for road infrastructure development and renovation of roads connecting Kolkata to Siliguri, the biggest town in north Bengal.

Sitharaman also announced that 675 km of roadway will be developed and there will be freight corridors between Kharagpur in West Midnapore district and Vijayawada and between Dankuni in Hooghly district and Gomo in Bihar. She also announced an East-West freight corridor in Bengal.

Banerjee arrived in Siliguri shortly after the budget speech ended and headed for a cultural event held by the state government. Her speech, however, was marked by political rhetoric.

“This is an anti-farmer, anti-people, anti-country budget. They are selling all PSUs, BSNL, airports and railways. They are also selling banks and 74% of Life Insurance Corporation of India. Be very careful. You keep your money in banks. Some day you may hear that all your money is gone,” Banerjee told the audience.

The TMC chief took a swipe at the Centre on the issue of infrastructure, saying the state government has done enough and is capable of taking care of its roads.

“We do not need money to build roads. Give this money to the farmers and withdraw the farms laws. The government is forgiving the loans of some billionaires. For the BJP, these people are Ma Laxmi (Hindu Goddess of wealth) while poor people get nothing. They don’t even buy railway tickets for migrant workers but those who steal millions are flown to Delhi in chartered planes,” said Banerjee.

Her remark was directly targeted at her former minister Rajib Banerjee, three sitting MLAs and a former legislator who flew to Delhi in a chartered plane on Saturday to join the BJP at Shah’s residence.

“I will not comment on the chief minister’s statement,” said Banerjee after attending his first meeting at a BJP office in Howrah district from where he was elected twice.

Banerjee also took on the Centre for announcing a package for tea-garden workers.

“Why announce another â‚č1000 crore when you have not kept your old promises? I have many plans for north Bengal. New industries will be set up here. You (voters) defeated me in north Bengal in the Lok Sabha. I don’t feel any shame because I know you will compensate me. Did those BJP MPs do anything for you? They did nothing. This time please vote for the TMC,” Banerjee said.

In a surprise move, she announced a prize of â‚č2 lakh for the dancers who took part in Monday’s cultural event.

Addressing a virtual press conference, Bengal finance minister Amit Mitra said, “The only clarity in the budget is on how to sell the country’s resources. During the Covid-19 pandemic the rich became richer. The middle class don’t appear in the budget and the poor are in bad shape.”

BJP national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya dismissed the allegations. “I thank the Prime Minister for the development packages. He has paved the path for building Sonar Bangla (golden Bengal),” he said.

People in the local tea industry welcomed the welfare package but said they were disappointed as well.

B K Saria, chairman of the Darjeeling Tea Association, said “We are happy that the Centre has announced a â‚č1000 crore package for welfare of tea-garden workers. But we are disappointed that it has not announced anything for the industry. It would have been appreciated had they announced something for the welfare of the companies.”

P K Bhattacharjee, secretary general of Tea Association of India, said, “We welcome the provision for a special scheme for women and children in the tea gardens of Assam and West Bengal. Women comprise more than 50% of the workforce. The impact of the proposed minimum wages for all categories of workers has to be examined once the wages are notified.” (HT)

*Freezing Conditions Ease A Bit As Fresh Snowfall Blankets Parts Of Kashmir*

Srinagar, Feb 1: A day after enduring the coldest night in 30 years, people in Srinagar woke up to a fresh blanket of snow as freezing weather conditions continued on Monday. While the overnight cloud cover led to a considerable increase in minimum temperatures, the mercury remained below normal across the Kashmir Valley.

A meteorological department official told GNS that Srinagar witnessed one centimeter of fresh snowfall while mercury settled at minus 3.1°C against minus previous nights minus 8.8°C, the lowest temperature of the season so far and the coldest January night in the past 30 years.

The minimum temperatures have consistently remained far below normal this season. On January 14, Srinagar recorded minus 8.4°C. On 20 January 1991, Srinagar witnessed a low of minus 11.8°C while the lowest ever temperature was recorded on 31 January 1893 when the mercury plummeted to minus 14.4 degrees Celsius. In the last 38 years, there have been 17 occasions when Srinagar recorded -8°C or less of which 1991 remained the coldest and harshest winter with the prolonged cold spell of nine days, Director Meteorological Department Sonam Lotus said.

The minimum temperature also hovered around far below the normal in other parts of the Valley, the MeT official said.

The mercury settled at minus 6.0°C in Pahalgam against minus 12.0°C on the previous night while the world-famous health resort received 2.4 cms of the fresh snow, the MeT official said.

Qazigund, the gateway town of J&K, recorded a low of minus 2.1°C against minus 10.2°C on the previous night while Kokernag recorded a minimum of minus 9.5°C against minus 12.4°C on the earlier night.

Gulmarg recorded a low of minus 8.2°C against minus 8.0°C earlier night while the world’s famous skiing resort received 1.3cms of fresh snow, the official said.

The mercury settled at minus 2.9°C in Kupwara against minus 2.3°C on the previous night even as northern Kashmir district received the highest snowfall of 3cms, the official added.

The fresh snowfall comes two days after ‘Chillai-Kalan’— the 40-day harshest winter period which commenced on December 21, ended. The period is considered the harshest of the winter when the chances of snowfall are most frequent and maximum.

The cold wave, however, continues even after that in Kashmir with a 20-day-long ‘Chillai-Khurd’ (small cold) and a 10-day-long ‘Chillai-Bachha’ (baby cold).

The weatherman has forecast isolated to scattered rain or snowfall during 1-3rd February due to which a gradual rise in minimum temperature is expected. (GNS)

Over 100 persons missing since Jan 26 tractor rally: Farmers’ body

NEW DELHI: More than 100 persons have been reported missing since the tractor rally taken out in Delhi on the Republic Day, the Sanyukt Kisan Morcha said on Sunday while expressing deep concern over the issue.

"We are now trying to compile information about these missing persons, after which the issue will be taken with authorities. A committee has been constituted which includes Prem Singh Bhangu, Rajinder Singh Deep Singh Wala, Avtar Singh, Kiranjit Singh Sekhon and Baljit Singh," the leaders of the conglomeration of more than 40 farmers' unions said at a press conference at Singhu on the Delhi-Haryana border.

The Morcha also issued a number to gather information about the missing persons, on which the caller can register the full name, address, phone number and any other contact number and since when the person is missing.

The Morcha also condemned the arrest of freelance journalist Mandeep Punia and detention and subsequent release of another scribbler as well as the "government's attack on farmers' agitation by suspending Internet services at various protest sites".

"The Modi government does not want the real facts to reach the farmers and the general public, nor their peaceful conduct reach the world. The government wants to spread its lies about the farmers."

The front leaders also questioned the siege of protest sites to prevent or dissuade the common people and media from reaching the Singhu border and other dharna sites.

"Despite several attempts to foment violence by the police and the government, farmers are still debating three agricultural laws and MSPs. We want to make it clear to all aware citizens that our Delhi front is safe and peaceful." (IANS)

HANDWARA 27 July 2020: Khawaja Farooq Renzushah has felicitated Sufi Scholar Jenab KHURSHID Dar sahib for the first time discovering underground Khankah of Kashmir in Shah Nigri Mawar HANDWARA forests. It is from the period from 1321 to 1370. It has seven rooms (khanas) underground still existing. It is of the Sufi era of Hazrat Bulbulshah RA & Mir Syed Hamadani RA 1321 -1370 Ad. According to witnesses one great Sufi Buzarag Hazrat Abdul Wahab Aitqaadi had mediated in this spiritual underground KHANKAH in the 14th century and recited 99 names of Allah. At present, with timely action, this first underground seven-room KHANKAH can be saved from crumbling

Khwaja Renzushah said that the Research team headed by scholar Khurshid Dar Sahib who had gone on the spot made this Spiritual Discovery. He said it is part of spiritual voyage chanting 99 names of Allah & 99 names of Ishiq-e-Rasool (SAW) and Bandaye Parwardigaram preamble of Jamaat aAtqaad that our esteemed Nigraans have identified various abodes and underground places of many Buzargaan-e-Deen, Sufi scholars, Authors, mystic personalities of last seven hundred years. It is part of a big spiritual task to identify all 7777 BUZARGAN DEEN of Kashmir.

Khurshid sahib while visiting on spot has found that from underground Khankah walls echo of 99 names emerge after sitting in meditation for some period.

Khurshid Dar Sahib along the team has intimated that it is for the first time that such significant discovery has been made where first underground Sufi KHANKAH has been explored deep in the forest. He has submitted an underground picture of the underground Khankah.

North Kashmir scholar Jenab Khurshid Dar (Handwara) head of spiritual research team in the area of Jamaat Aitqaad International along with witness research team of Jamaat Aitqaad at the abode of first underground Khankah.

Where Hazrat Abdul Wahab Aitqaadi has mediated in chillah. This Khankah is at Shah Nigri Mawar Handwara of the period between Hazrat Bulbulshah RA 1321 to the period of Mir Syed Ali Hamdani RA 1370 Ad in Seven underground rooms caved deep underground.

Unfortunately at present Research team was dejected to see this astonishing spiritual marvel at Shah Nigri, Mawar Handwara Crumbling, and in shambles.

The Seven roomed cave where a towering and high ranked Wali Kamil Of Rab-i-Jaleel, Hazrat Shiekh Syed Abdul Wahab RA, mediated for years is crumbling.

The cave is just a few hundred meters away from this Ziarat Sharif. From its internal structure and style of construction, it is clear that the Mystic powers used to meditate here. There is also a spring at a short distance from the cave, which has now dried up.

The approximate length of this cave is 30 ft. 2.5 ft wide and its height is 6 feet approximately. Although the cave is crumbling and is in shambles yet a corridor is seen there and there are 7 strange rooms. When we enter the cave there are two small rooms one left side and the second one is on the right side the last portion of the cave is down and there seems the seventh room.

It is said that when this high ranked mystic reached there. No habitation was there. A cowherd was feeding his cattle there. Impressed by the iconic mystic powers Rab-i-Jaleel bestowed to this high ranked Syed, the cowherd became his helper.

Hazrat Shiekh Syed Abdul Wahab RA belongs to the period between 1321 AD to 1370 AD when the Sufi mystic era of Hazrat Bulbulshah RA & Hazrat Mir Syed Ali Hamdani RA was dominant in Kashmir.

Was this cave used by the Spiritual and divine powers to get enlightenment?
